Free Music Notes for Strangeways Here We ComeFree Music Review: Smith's Angst Hit: 5 Stars
The CD shows the musical versatility of Morrisey and the way this band put together quality sound. "Girlfriend in Coma" and "Last Night I Dreamed Somebody Loved Me" show the intense search for love..and gives one a sense of being lost in a cruel world. Reminds me of my 20's, when I was quite confused about life and what it meant.
Free Music Review: Brilliant! Hit: 5 Stars
Most of the Smiths fans I've met tend to disagree with me, but I rank this album as equal with the Queen is Dead. From the opening, haunting lyrics of "A Rush and a Push...," all the way through to the end, this is a masterpiece! "Paint a Vulgar Picture" is a classic track -- one of the very best ever from the Smiths/Morrissey.
Free Music Review: SHWC - melodic, dark, funny, ironic & lyrical. A classic! Hit: 5 Stars
An oustanding blend of creative & memorable music (Johnny Marr) and Lyrics & Vocals (Morrissey) that range somewhere between Soulful, Dark & Funny at any given instant. Much like Jane's Addiction last work, this final album marks the Smiths' culmination of ability & style.
Free Music Review: It just doesnt get any better Hit: 5 Stars
This is numero uno for me and The Smiths. Maybe not as catchy sounding or witty as other albums, Strangeways is by far the most intricate and delicate of the bunch. Thats my usual tastes anyway so maybe Im biased. But for me The Smiths swan song was the a bitter-sweet good bye.
Free Music Review: 20 years out, Stop me if... Hit: 5 Stars
It is now twenty years since its release. I purchased the CD to replace a cassette tape, yes some of them can linger around that long and still wind around. Still just as wonderful, lyrics still stand "Paint a Vulgar Picture" & "Girlfriend in a Coma" true and funny as ever.
