Free Music Review: The Temps!

The Temps are one of my favorite Motown bands, and this is a very strong collection from them. Just about every song is classic, and it contains minimal filler. The best material, in my mind, is from I Wish It Would Rain to my favorite Temps tune, Papa was a Rolling Stone. But the early stuff (My Girl, Get Ready, Ain't Too Proud to Beg, I'm Losing You) is also excellent. The last few songs, with the exception of Treat Her Like a Lady, are weak, as are All I Need, You're My Everything and Angel Doll. There is also a missing song: Runaway Child, Running Wild. Great song, I wonder why it wasn't included. But this is a great collection and is worth your money.Free Music Review: Without a doubt, the Temptations had it going on.*****

After seeing the movie about the Temptations I feel I can relate to the music better. I can see Paul making up the dance routine as I listen to The Way You Do the Things You Do! and David breaking in on the show on Ain't To Proud to Beg! These guys were the stuff, and my favorites on this CD/album are It's Growing lead by David - Don't Look Back lead by Paul(he could have sang for me anyday)- and I Wish It Would Rain. Hey, I learned to roller skate off I Can't Get Next to You. It truly takes you back in time - great memories. This is one for all collector of the Motown Sound to have. Though missing some of the most popular songs the Temptations performed over the years, this collection contains some great, almost forgotten favorites and should be a part of any collection. The pul-out booklet could be more informative, but the images on the covers and inside are priceless.A true fan will enjoy this CD in their computer or in the car and the digital recording is masterful, just like the group who made the music. Sadly, the a capella version of My Girl is incomplete on this CD and not always found on the Emperors Of Soul CD either. Still, a great collection by a great group, listen and you'll have a great time.

when you talk about singing and classic songs this group should be at the top almost all the time.what a group.i mean the songs not only define a time but a whole era.despite what was going on amongest themselves they as a group created a lasting body of work as a vocal group that in my mind as with countless others won't be any time if ever reached.and those were songs unlike today when a producer is hot and everybody jumps on that band-wagon and follows that trend.but with the temps no matter what the style or time you always get soul and innovation.long live the baddest vocal group ever.Free Music Review: This cd is tempting!!!!

This cd is great! I'm only 15 yrs old, but I know great music when I hear it! The Temptations were one of the greatest Motown acts. You can easily "hear" why. Just listen to the vocals on "My Girl" and "Just My Imagination". Timeless! The beats on "Ball of Confusion" and "Shakey Ground" are unbeatable too. So for all the teenagers out there...pull the plug on punk and get into The Temps! I would also recommend The Ultimate Collection: Eddie Kendricks and The Temptations mimi-series (movie).
