I think there's a handful of bands out there that stand out in 2009. One of them is The Verve. The quality of sound is obvious. The album was put together well. It cannot be compared to previous work. These artists will always have fans who compare and bring back albums from the past. As for the present, bands like U2, Oasis, and The Verve are important and relevant in music and the human experience.Free Music Review: Forth time is a charm

In a nutshell, the sounds encomnpass all of what they have done, with a decided leaning to their Storm In Heaven days. Many of the tunes clock in at over 6 min, which here is a good thing with all the wonderfull embellishments resulting in another discovery in the soundscape with each re-run. It's been playing all day, and I wonder how many re-runs before I tire of it.Free Music Review: Love Is Noise

i bought it because of Love Is Noise and that's unquestionably my favorite song on the album. i would just like to take Love Is Noise and float off into space with it forever. in my opinion it stands comparison to some of the greatest songs ever written. it's ingenious.

I love this record. It's got a progressive vibe that I like and Verve's trippy rythmns and vocals are always fresh and exciting. Of course Forth has been practically ignored by the mainstream because the mainstream is only interested in crap.
I'm so happy The Verve got back to make this record. I was starting to lose hope in good rock music.

I am a big, bif fan of Urban Hymns and was so excited to see a new release from the Verve. Just brilliant work again from these guys. If you are a Verve fan you must get this! Just love the mix of guitars, strings and piano on the songs. It is different from other Verve albums but I recommend it highly.
