I don't know what it is about these songs. I can't listen to the songs willingly. "I should listen to Forth by The Verve" never pops into my head. The only time I listen to these songs is when they come up on random on my itunes. There are some tracks that I find it hard to enjoy but most of them I absolutely fell in love with the moment I heard them. Like I said, I don't know what it is about these songs. I love them but can't make a conscious effort to listen to them. Oh well, here are some key tracks in no particular order.

i just bought the album today and am listening to it for the 2nd time while writing this.
for me this has been torture waiting for the verve to release new material. I'm originally from Liverpool and was in my teens when the verve broke onto the scene and have remained the band that most influenced my youth.
i have to say listening to this is just a throw back to those times. they just picked up where they left off.
this is great album and i'm sure will get better and better the more i hear it. thats why i gave it a 4 rating then a 5.
as for the tracks well if you have heard all 3 previous albums and b-sides etc then i would say this album has a little bit of everything from them all.

I am aware of some of The Verve's music from the past, but am not familiar enough with their past work from a detailed discography standpoint to compare this album to what came before. The verve seem to have unique, catchy sounds and lyrics that flow well within the ethereal sounds they create. I like the tracks Love is Noise, I see Houses, and the slow, dreamy "Valium Skies" the best. For a band whose music I've just now increased a focus upon, I have to say this album will be a mainstay in my collection. Overall, Forth is a very enjoyable album that warrants a listen.Free Music Review: love it....

Like so many others, I had been patiently waiting for this album for a long time. When I heard "Love Is Noise" for the first time I was impressed, to say the least, and still am. It's totally catchy and an awesome tune. I bought "Forth" (a pun-their fourth album haha) the day it came out and it did not disappoint. I have been listening to it ever since and it's just great; I love it. Hopefully we will not have to wait 11 years for the next album!!Free Music Review: Fourth

Fourth being Verve's 4th studio album and their 2008 release was their first release since their 1997 release Urban Hymns. The sound is a mix of Alternative rock, Psychadelic Rock, Shoegazing and Space Rock. The album spawned 2 singles, i.e., "Love is Noise" and "Rather Be". The booklet contains no lyrics but does contain a list of whom plays what and many fine photographs of the band. Allmusic gave it 3/5 and Rolling Stone 4/5. 4/5.
