I bought this cd at the same time I bought their cd titled "White Stripes". I think they struggled a bit on this album to come up with a new sound. And while I like this album I do not rate it as highly as White Stripes. My interest in the duo is still intact and I will be purchasing more of their music.Free Music Review: Becoming brilliant

The Whites were still searching for a striped aesthetic to call their own, and while fumbling through less convincing, undercooked acoustic work, the disc does settle into a convincing cocktail of scuzz-bucket minimalist rock in its latter portion.
