Free Music Notes for Icky ThumpFree Music Review: Ickythumping Hit: 5 Stars
I was turned on to the White Stripes when my local rock station played some of their songs - so I got Icky Thump and Get Behind Me Satan to try them out. Icky Thump is... primitive... but in a good way. The title track is raucous and not at all pop, yet You Don't Know What Love Is is great hard pop music. I'm also falling in love with Little Cream Soda, though I expect it's not for everyone. If you like GBMS, I think you'll like Icky Thump. I'll be picking up the rest of their albums soon, and I hope they're as good.
Free Music Review: The White Stripes Masterpiece! Perfect In Every Way Hit: 5 Stars
A little for everyone and all for some.
This blows away the previous effort and resets the bar for what
generous retail rock is. Well worth the money spent!
To start with Icky Thump radio play didn't impress me.
Now without the radio it's awesome.
It flies - It soars - It scores
All the songs have substance and carry you around.
Repeated listens are not a problem.
My new favorite...
THE WHITE STRIPES - THEY'RE BACK!
Free Music Review: The Best Mr. White and Meg have put out yet. Hit: 5 Stars
I'm not a critic, but I find myself hearing the Led Zeppelin influence. It is very gratifying. While I'm at work "Rag and Bone' keep haunting me. My favorite cut is "Slowly turning into you."
How does a mere duo create the power of one of the greatest Rock band in history? I dunno.
I don't care that Jack is an eccentric nut-case. I really like his music. He must also be doing something right because he's still with his wife.
More power to him and all those like him.
Free Music Review: Engaging, vintage, and Raw Hit: 5 Stars
It's Extra! Read all about it! New White Stripes Album OWNS! *excited look* This isn't some lame attempt to be poppy or to appease the masses, this is raw, original, downright ROCK! Jack White's talents are right on the money, nasty slides, great riffs, with his unique vocals to back it up. This is such a vintage effort here with a twist of "expanding horizons". Bringin' back the old is what it's all about, and made the sound so original. Explore the rock Ladies and Gents.
Free Music Review: White stripes a homer Hit: 5 Stars
The new Icky Thump album by the White Stripes delivers the hard driving music and lyrical verse we now expect from Jack. The two person band delivers a tower of sound and driving rhythm throughout the CD. My favorite is the biting "You don't know what love is" which is a Dylanesque rocker with the bite of positively fourth street. The percussion is great and the variety of music created by this duo continues to amaze. Stripers will not be disappointed!
