Free Music Notes for The Who: The Ultimate CollectionFree Music Review: Finally! The Ultimate Collection Of Everything! Hit: 5 Stars
This is the collection all "Who" fans have been waiting for and it's just in time for their Summer Tour. The two CD's contain 35 tracks from 1964's, "I Can't Explain" classic to the show-stopping 1982 cut, "Eminence Front". All the best cuts are represented here including, "My Generation", "I Can See For Miles", "Magic Bus", four cuts from "Tommy", five cuts from the fantastic "Who's Next" and all the under-rated hits from the late seventies and early, early eighties. It's not just good, it is all remastered and even the older remastered cuts sound better. To beat it all, a bonus CD of four tracks is included with "Substitute" (rare U.S. version), "I'm A Boy" (early version), "Happy Jack" (previously unreleased "acoustic" version) and a U.K. single version of "Magic Bus"! All remastered. It sounds like it was just recorded! The booklet is great as well. Twenty seven pages of photos, history, album covers and trivia - it satisfies everything. Grab it and go see them this summer.
Free Music Review: The Ultimate Collection By All Means..... Hit: 5 Stars

Their is also a live track on disc one titled Summertime Blues(LIVE). Towards the end of disc the songs are from Who's Next including My Wife. Free Music Review: The Ultimate Collection, Great one to own if you just need one. Hit: 5 Stars
This is an excellent collection of 35 tracks from the Who, clocking in at around 136 minutes of music, all of them solid, wall to wall tracks. Plus I got the 4 track bonus CD with it, another small delight. I was introduced to the who late in life via The Smithereens Live album, and thier cover of The Who song "THE SEEKER". That was the song that just did it for me, stuck in my head and made it impossible to survive without owning at least one who album. So I picked this up at the same time I picked up "Who's Next" (another must own for a light collector). The who was shows great origins of heavy rock, punk, and the power rock genres. They were also some of the first to do concept albums. Just a great band
Highlights: My Generation, the kids are alright, substitute, magic bus, The seeker, summertime blues, behind blue eyes, baba o'reiley, and who are you.
Low lights: NONE-strong all the way through, those are just my very favorites above.
An excellent value if you pick this up, you will enjoy it.
Free Music Review: Great Compilation and Better than Then And Now: 1964-2004 Hit: 5 Stars
The first compilation of the Who's music I baught was Then and Now: 1964-2004. It's a good cd, but unlike this one it is only one disk, and there aren't as many songs on it. This compilation Contains Who classics such as "My Generation," "Substitute," "Won't Get Fooled Again," and "Behind Blue Eyes." It also contains lesser known but equally as good songs such "Pure and Easy," "Long Live Rock," "Let's See Action," and "Good-bye Sister Disco." Each of these songs is great, this collection showcases the tallents of the group members. We even get some songs that were written by John Entwistle. All of the songs on this collection are on Then and Now, but this collection also contains songs such as "Bargain" and the album version of "Love Rain O'Er Me." "Love Rain O'Er Me" is on the Then and Now collection, but the version on their is the radio edit, while this version is the fulll-length album version. This cd is a great cd, and definitely worth buying, whether your a long-time Who fan, or your new like I am.
Free Music Review: Ultimate Collection lives to it's name. Hit: 5 Stars
I'm 15 and a MAJOR Who fan. I basically live off The Who and their music. Pete Townshend was the reason I started playing my guitar.
I admit though, this was not the first CD I popped into my CD player. This CD was probabley the 6th but I was blown away by it.
It has all the Who's major radio hits excluding Slip Kid and Athena. (Atleast our radio station plays Slip Kid...)
It's extremley good for the begining fan who only knows their radio hits or only Tommy. (Though just buy Tommy if you know it!)
It covers all The Who's albums. From My Generation to It's Hard(My favorite).
The only thing is that they should have included more tracks from Quadrophenia and The Who By Numbers.
All and all, this is an amazing album. The pictures of the band are beautiful.
I will recomend this to my friends who are getting into The Who and to anyone who wants to discover why I obsess about this awesome and powerful band.
