Free Music Notes for The Who: The Ultimate CollectionFree Music Review: Amazing Hit: 5 Stars
Finally a who compilation worth your money. I highly recomend this over 'who's greatest hits' and 'the millenium collection', and I would even recomend it over the boxed set because its so much more consise. A far as I'm concerned their is not a single song on either disk not worth listening to. Everything from 'I can't explain' to 'Eminence force' is classic who. The main problem with the previous two greatest hit's albums is that they are both painfully short. The music is great but when it was over i just remember thinking 'Thats all?'. Also, unlike the previous two, this album includes liner notes giving great backround information on the bands history. Also included in the linar notes are some colorful pictures of the band members and album covers. I highly recomend this album to anyone.
Free Music Review: In a word...Ultimate Hit: 5 Stars
I am by no means a Who expert, in fact this is my first CD that I have ever had by this group, and I recieved it as a gift. I had heard several of the more popular songs before...(My Generation, Pinball Wizard, etc.)...but there are few songs on this album that I don't like now. The sound quality is EXCELLENT, very clear and nice, and that feature greatly enhances the quality of the music. The inside pamphlet is informative and great, with lots and pictures and info about the songs and the band, and both CD's are flawless. I can't compare this album to any other Who collection, it wouldn't be my place to comment about that, but I can say that this is a wonderful album, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys classic rock like I do, even if you're not familiar with The Who.
Free Music Review: WOW the who are amazing! Hit: 5 Stars
This collection is amazing! It shows the who may be better then the stones! Pete Townsend is one of the greatest songwriters ever! John Entwhistle is a great bassit and songwriter (boris the spider, my wife.) Keith Moon is the 2nd greatest drummer ever ( behind J Bonham.) Add a singer like Roger Daltrey and u have a great band! Pete's a good singer 2, listen to eminence front. Wont Good Fooled again is a classic, & Who Are You might be their best song. I really dig the intro. This greatest hits blows away the stones 40 licks by a mile!!! There is no dip in quality like on that cd, plus, the material is just better. Also, u get some great liner notes about the songs. Baba O'Reily is a stunning song, i really like the part where pete sings. Buy this collection!
Free Music Review: The Who - Ultimate "Great Collection" Hit: 5 Stars
I purchased this collection because I did not have a good archive of Who songs spanning their entire career. The last collection I had purchased was "The Who's Greatest Hits" (on vinyl) many years ago which contained only about 10 or 12 songs. I purchased the two disc DVD of the "The Kid's Are Alright" a few years ago which I have enjoyed watching tremendously and wanted to update my music CD collection of The Who. I would highly recommend to anyone to purchase this set if you are into this band. I wish the liner notes had went into a little more depth about the tracks and included more band history, but I got some of that when I purchased "The Kids Are Alright", so.......
just buy this set, you won't be disappointed.
Free Music Review: Finally A Who Greatest hits Package Worth Buying! Pefect Hit: 5 Stars
Perfect Song Selection. After many Years of MCA flooding the market with Who greatest hits packages, they finally struck gold with The Ultimate Who Collection which contains many of their great songs which everyone knows like My Generation, Substitute, Happy Jack and Who are you Etc. Etc. It also contains a bonus third disc which a different version of there early songs like Happy jack and the original American Version of Substitute which changes the lyrics. I would recommend this cd set to anyone who want to familiarlize themselves with The Who's great songs. I hope MCA stops remarketing their greatest hits and convince The Who to crack open the vaults or go in the studio (which is rumored) to make a new album.
