I just watched "The Wizard of Oz" on Turner Classic Movies tonight and never tire of the enduring magic this movie lends itself over and over again.This CD set is the ultimate truly for anyone who is a hardcore Oz fan like myself. Unless you own the laser version copy of the gift set "The Ultimate Oz" you will not find the complete musical scoring on any other CD (in fact the "Ultimate Oz" actually includes more than this CD does!).
I considered the price quite in-expensive when you consider the deluxe packaging and booklet that's included. But that's me and I can never resist another trip "Over the Rainbow" with Judy in Oz.

This is an amazing CD including songs that have long been lost, such as choreagraghy rehearsals and mess-ups, to lost outtakes and backround music not found in any other recording! This is definitely a must for any fan of OZ, and being a huge fanatic myself that's saying alot. This would also make a terrific gift for any friends that happen to be fans of OZ considering it comes with a lovely display. All around, I would consider this one of the greatest OZ recordings ever produced, so I would highly recomend that you get out your walets and buy this fantastic CD!Free Music Review: All the Wizard of Oz Music!

This is a great addition to your "WIZARD OF OZ" Collection. I hae a copy of it and it's done very well. You can also get to hear many of the outtakes music stuff from the movie and that's really neat to hear too. There is also a wonderful extended verison of "Over The Rainbow" by Judy Garland when she filmed the movie she sang the song a few times but it ended up that they had to keep redoing the song a few times as heared on the CD because she ended up crying!Free Music Review: Instant Classic!!

This CD is just about the tops!! It has everything, from outtakes, to the original versions of the songs, and so on. The only thing that might make you hesitate is the price--but just save up your money and get one today! It also has a 52 page booklet with it, so you can learn about "The Wizard of Oz". This booklet is 5 stars too! It also has pictures of Buddy Ebsen as the Tinman, a blonde Dorothy, and the witch before her make-up was redone. Sure, the music is over sixty years old, but Rhino CDs are the best in sound quality and this is no exception. I am very pleased with the sound quality and it was worth the price (each CD is a picture disc).The outtake of "Over the Rainbow" should be reason enough to get this CD. Kids will love the instrumental tracks for play acting many of the movie's scenes.I'm happy with it, I think you will be, too.
