If you google Richard Bennett and find his website, take a moment to look over his discography. As he states, it's not complete, making it all the more mind-boggling. His talents have obviously been in demand for well over 30 years as a first-rate session man, and as witnessed on this CD: no wonder.
For this, his own release, he has taken well known genres and made them sound fresh with ear-catching melodic twists and hauntingly beautiful guitar work. If you're into guitar tone - not some over-processed and distorted mess - but pure, warm, rich, vintage electric TONE, then you have to add this to your collection.
I bought this, listened once or twice, then put it away for about a year thinking "very nice - I'll come back to that someday". Thankfully that "someday" came again recently. Since then, this disc has rarely been far way from my player. I can't get enough - and if you give it a chance I'll bet you'll feel the same.
