Free Music Notes for Scars and SouvenirsFree Music Review: I Think Thou Doest Protest Too Much.............. Hit: 4 StarsUpon first listen I find the latest offering from our Canadian rockers to be rather enjoyable. No, the tunes don't grab me as those from "Gasoline" did, but I see the band taking a different approach on this release. Here we find a greater number of ballads if you will, but we can also find a good balance in the heavier tracks. I think we find Tyler and the band still maturing and yet defining who TOAD really are. As usual we find the similarities and comparisons to Alice In Chains and Nickelback, but I enjoy those bands as well. I recall that many were initially critical with the release of "Gasoline", and may in this instance be rushing to judgement as well. I recommend this album as a decent rendering.
Free Music Review: Great album by maturing band Hit: 5 StarsI have read a lot of negative reviews for this album, but just can't agree with them. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. While there are still similarities in the sound to Nickelback, who are a great band, I don't believe that they have made as solid a record as this one by TOAD. From song Crutch, which is a crushing rocker to Little Smirk, a sardonic and big F.U. to a cheating girlfriend, this cd has it all. And it must be said that Tyler's voice has never been stronger or clearer.
Free Music Review: great cd! Hit: 5 StarsI bought this cd expecting it to be nothing special but i liked some of the songs on the radio and when i bought it i was plesently suprised! i can listen to the whole cd and not skip a single song. definetly worth the money to buy!
Free Music Review: Theory Of An Unoriginal Band Hit: 1 StarsThis band blows!! I can not put it in any simpler terms. I've never heard a band try so hard to sound like everyone else, especially Nickelback. Even worse 'Bad Girlfriend' sounds like Nickelback ripping off The Cult's 'Fire Woman'. I think they should come out and say "We're a Nickelback tribute band". I'd have a little more respect for them if they did, but not much more. This is the result of record labels and producers formulating a sellable sound. This is why the record industry is going down the toilet and I think it's getting what it deserves.
Free Music Review: Great talent, but too many slow songs. Hit: 4 StarsI absolutely love Theory of a Dead Man. Each song is great, but I was really hoping to rock out, and this CD didn't do that for me. Too many slow songs.I really enjoyed their past CD's better. They had better variety.
