Free Music Notes for Here Come the ABCs [CD/DVD Combo]Free Music Review: ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC Hit: 5 Stars
This is the best buy I've done recently. My daughter doesn't get tired of the music, she loves all the songs and she has learned the ABC's from this CD. The DVD is a super bonus. The first time I watched it I enjoyed a lot. The Q & U and the ICU songs are HILARIOUS. I told my husband about it and he kind of teased me saying "I am so glad you are having so much fun with your daughter". Several days ago he watched it for the first time and he agreed with me a 100%.. He loved it. It is so creative, so well done, every song is visually different. I would recommend it to everybody. Really refreshing. I wish the NO!! CD had its own DVD too.
Free Music Review: Mom, Dad, and 2 & 4 year old kids all LOVE it! Hit: 5 Stars
I've been a big TMBG fan since the 80s so I was really excited to buy this for the kids. We already had the NO album but they really got into this one thanks to the DVD with the videos for each song (animated; with John & John puppets doing intros to each song). They would watch that DVD endlessly if I let them. The good thing is the videos held their attention and got them hooked on the music so now they love listening to the CD in the car and will sing along (and dance as much as their car seats allow them to) Great buy for the DVD/CD combo. After buying and seeing this one Here Come the 1-2-3s was a no-brainer to get as well!
Free Music Review: F is for Fantastic! Hit: 5 Stars
I cannot rave enough about Here Come the ABCs! These lessons in the ABCs are quirky yet educational, silly yet sophisticated, and truly speak to the mind of a child. Oh, and I love to listen to them too!
My favorite track is Fake-Believe, while my children heartily enjoy E Eats Everything. This is much more than typical children's music or corny songs about the alphabet -- it is They Might Be Giants in everyway. Blending silliness with sophistiaction is the m.o. of tmbg, and the two Johns definitely hit the mark with this dvd/cd. You and your children will come back to this over and over, you might even beg for more!
Free Music Review: Fun for Kids and their Grown-ups! Hit: 5 Stars
I bought "Here Come the ABC's" for a friend for her birthday after she watched it with my son. She adores the set. They Might Be Giants performs wonderfully catchy songs that are both easy to remember and challenge thinking. My son, who is 2, enjoys the puppets and the vivid and sometimes strange animation sequences. Favorite songs in our household include "Alphabet of Nations" (me), "E Eats Everything" (my son), and "Alphabet Lost and Found" (my husband). This set is one that I would recommend to anyone who interacts with young children learning to play with language. It grabs their attention, and they don't mind at all.
Free Music Review: Funky fun Hit: 5 Stars
This album is so much fun! They Might Be Giants have a distinctly unique style, that definitely comes out in their children's music, too. The songs are so upbeat, my daughter can't help but dance every time I play the CD, and she's not even 2 years old yet. I was surprised to find that there was also a DVD included, which I didn't realize. So I didn't play it until later. But it is so good! There are actually funky cartoons, puppet skits or live band footage for each song, plus some extras not on the CD. The artwork in the cartoons is really amazing, too. And it's great to learn about the alphabet while dancing and singing!
