Free Music Notes for Dedication the Very Best ofFree Music Review: MELODIC ROCK Hit: 4 Stars
All the hits from a very special UK band whose main era was the 70s. Set apart by their unique brand of tuneful rock and Phil Lynott's suave voice, they first struck gold in 1973 with Whisky In The jar, a rocked up folk song. Bass-driven guitar led the way in rockers such as Dancing In The Moonlight, The Boys Are Back In Town and Don't Believe A Word, while their introspective side is showcased in the tender ballad Sarah. Rosalie is on a par with Springsteen at his best, and Dedication, the melancholy closer, serves as a moving epitaph. The album is a must for those who love melodic hard rock.
Free Music Review: Thin Lizzy: The Irish kings! Hit: 4 Stars
This is a good CD, for the most part. Thin Lizzy was not a band with many media hits, but that does not mean that they were not a great band, because they were. "The boys are back in town" "Jailbreak" "Dancin' in the moonlight (It's caught me in its spotlight" "Still in love with you" "Whiskey in the jar" and "She knows" are the six songs that really stand out.
Free Music Review: Excellent Band, Excellent CD Hit: 4 Stars
This is one of the better greatest hits albums ever from a band that aside from Jethro Tull is one of the most overlooked rock bands ever. Take your...Rolling Stones Records, tapes and cds and toss 'em and buy this. This was the BEST band of it's time musically speaking. Some of the lyrics weren't so great, but Keith Richards wishes he could have played guitar as well as any of their numerous guitarists.
Free Music Review: Really good collection of their songs Hit: 4 Stars
This is a really good collection of songs from thin lizzy with one glaring absence which is there is nothing from thunder and ligthening on it i.e like cold sweat. All the songs on it are really good..some things I'd like to see changed on it are..remove rosalie and wild one and put sweet marie and king's vengence on it. Otherwise, really good choice of songs.
Free Music Review: Guitar Rock Standard Hit: 4 Stars
If you are looking for a good, '70s style guitar rock addition to your collection, this is a great disk. Although I bought it for "The Boys", most of the tracks rock with a drive that makes you want to crank it up and crack a beer. Great nostalgia for the rock-aware.
