Free Music Review: One of the Best LPs of the 70's

While this is certainly a great album by Thin Lizzy, containing perhaps their 3 best songs ("Jailbreak", "The Boys Are Back in Town" and "Cowboy Song"), I don't agree with most of the other reviews that this is their best album. Don't get me wrong. This is a superb hard rock album without any filler, just good songs start to finish. But, the album that preceded this one, "Fighting", is the one I would consider their absolute best album. I owned both vinyl copies and they both got worn out on my turntable. But, it was "Fighting" that first turned me on to Thin Lizzy. If you like "Jailbreak", you have to do yourself a favor and purchase "Fighting" also. This is from start to finish one of the best classic rock albums of all time. Thin Lizzy were the obsolute best rock group from the 70's and their album Jailbreak was a breakthrough success that also has some of their more recognisible and memorable hits like Boys are back in town, Jailbreak and Emerald. All the songs on this cd are great and there is no filler, check out the hard driving and heavy song called Warriors or the calm and slow excellent song called Fight or fall when Phil sings "brotha, brotha" it seems like an r'n'b or soul song that sounds very good, its one of my favorites along with Emerald and Jailbreak. Overall I suggest you pick up this album and check it out yourself cause its fantastic.Free Music Review: Classic Rock !

This was one of the first albums I ever bought, yes, in the '70's, in vinyl. It is utterly fantastic! From the opening guitar Riffs of Jailbreak to the closing notes of Emerald this album rocks like no other.With hard driving guitars, pulsating basslines you will find it hard to keep still...And Phil Lynott's, voice, Heavenly!
This album contains some already classic tracks, required listening for anyone who loves rock n roll:
Jailbreak, The Boys are Back in Town, The Cowboy Song, Running Back
These were rock radio staples where I grew up in Arizona. They still rock! If you are tired of grunge, try Thin Lizzy. You will not be disappointed. I promise!

I have to disagree with the last review of Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak". I do agree that it's not their best work. "I think "Roisin Dubh (Black Rose: A Rock Legend)" holds that title. Nevertheless, the gems on "Jailbreak" are certainly NOT characteristic of the music of the mid '70's, with the possible exception of "The Boys Are Back In Town". Let's face it- ANY band would kill to have a song like that, even if it's labeled commercial. Only Thin Lizzy could pull such a diverse collection of tunes into a cohesive effort. Yes, "Thunder And Lightning" is great, but it came 7 yrs. later. This is a must have disc!Free Music Review: A classic from the rockers

1976 was a hot summer in England, and I was only 12 years old, this Thin Lizzy vintage would'nt reach my ears for another five years. And then WOW
I won't bore you with a tedious track by track breakdown, every one is a classic, the band at its peak on tour, on fire, the duelling lead guitars of messrs Robertson and Gorham are really so exciting, laid on the intricate (and much underrated bass playing of Mr Lynott).
So I guess I should buy this on CD, I still have the magnificent Gatefold LP, up in my parents attic, it would be worth something but its worn out, really.
