Free Music Notes for Third Eye BlindFree Music Review: Amazing. Hit: 5 Stars
Third Eye Blind's self-titled debut CD is easily my favorite album. Whoever called Third Eye Blind's music "FMlite" has never experienced Third Eye Blind. If you go deeper than the mainstream songs Semi-Charmed Life and Jumper, you will find intense, hard-rocking songs. Their music has touched my life in an unbelievable way and I can't even imagine my life without it. Take the song Motorcycle Drive By. Beautiful, devastating lyrics. Stephan is an amazing songwriter. When you compare 3EB's lyrics to those of bands like the Goo Goo Dolls, there is really no comparison. 3EB's lyrics are intricate and intelligent, and reading them/listening to them is like reading/listening to poetry. If you still don't believe that 3eb is rock, see them live. The few times I've seen them live have been my favorite experiences I have had. This band is amazing. Get this if you haven't, then get Out of the Vein, which promises to deliver even more awesome music. If you've just now discovered Third Eye Blind after getting Out of the Vein, this debut is a must-have. Motorcycle Drive By, God of Wine, and The Background are essentials, and Semi-Charmed Life is incredibly underrated. This is amazing music that is experienced, not simply heard.
Free Music Review: THE BEST album I have ever heard, deserves 10 stars Hit: 5 Stars
This album, oh my God, this album, the best $15 I have ever spent. I remember hearing these songs on the radio when I was like 8 and 9 years old, back when i had no interest in music what so ever, but still, Semi Charmed Life, Jumper, those songs, they really stood out, really caught my ears, and kept them, and every time it would end, i would rapidly switch through stations, hoping that it was playing on some other channel. Since then, I have become much more interested in music, and the first CD I ever bought myself, was Third Eye Blind, and since then I have probably listened to the entire thing over a 100 times, and I could listen to it a million more times, and never ever get tired of it. Usually when I buy a CD without already hearing most of the songs, I am supremely dissapointed, and really wish I hadn't just spent my hard earned money on this crap, but with this CD, I would have gladly paid ten times as much, I mean, I could have just downloaded everyone of these songs off the internet, but I just had to buy this album. Every time I hear it it takes me back to those carefree times, and I plan on keeping this one, there is no way in hell I'm going to lose it, like I eventually do with most CDs.
Free Music Review: The guilty pleasure to end all guilty pleasures... Hit: 5 Stars
Third Eye Blind arrived in 1997, setting rock radio aflame with their brand of catchy pop rock. Music afficianados everywhere hated this band, but the fact that they were lumped in with bands like Matchbox 20 and Goo Goo Dolls is quite unfortunate. Third Eye Blind does make radio friendly music, but there is a lot lurking underneath this album's surface. First of all, guitarist Kevin Cadogan is one of the most talented players to hit the scene in the late nineties. He takes simply structured pop songs and adds an intricate edge to them that gives 3EB a unique sound all their own. Stephen Jenkins is a good lyricist and a great singer. Everything this guy sings is a hook in itself without coming off as forced. The songs aren't too bad either. The entire album is pretty much a highlight, but the strongest tracks come at the end. The Background is an emotional song with a great guitar line and breathtaking climax. Motorcycle Drive-By is the best song on the album, one of my favorite songs of all time. You really need to listen to believe that one. Although most hardcore fans of music will dismiss this as pop drivel, I still recommendly highly: It is pop, but it's most definitely not drivel.
Free Music Review: One of the Best All Around CD I've Purchased Hit: 5 Stars
I don't buy records too often. Often it is because a record cost $15 and it is only good for a few songs played on the radio or not wanting to be disappointed after the purchase. I have this CD since the band was "new" and I didn't have too much money as a college student. Anyways, this CD is my most memorable because not only were the songs played on the radio was excellent but the other songs on the CD were just or even better. I know I like this album after I first played it in its entirety. It a big WOW.
This whole album is rock genre yet it is versatile where it feels at home in the car, coffee shop or just at home. The songs hits at many notes, many situations and the singing and tunes are aspirations for beginning guitarist like me. It is one of my favorites and I tell\play it to all my friends this when they ask what band I like. My fav songs: God of Wine, Burning Man, Semi-, Graduate, etc. Unfortunately, like many new bands of these times, the subsequent album that I got Out of Vein wasn't as memorable or addictive but maybe it just needs more play time. Anyways, I got this album to fall back on and it's hard for any subsequent Third Eye Blind album to top their greatest album.
Free Music Review: words can't describe... Hit: 5 Stars
i thought about 20 different titles for this review, but literally, words can't describe how great this album is. i thought this cd would bomb, because i usually don't have the same taste as the people i know that owned it before me. but then i actually listened to it. i LOVE this cd! once i listened to it, all the other bands were pushed off the list. this band is number 1! they put a great variety of music on ONE cd. not many bands can do that. third eye blind produced a cd that deserves to have a shrine built for it. their songs are just, i don't know how to put it, addictive! you listen and can't stop! this band definately does not get the attention it deserves. i remember telling someone who my favorite band was, third eye blind, and they said, "who is that?" i responded by saying, "you know, they sing semi-charmed life and deep inside of you (not on this cd)" my friend immediately jumped up and said, "oh my god i LOVE that song!" you can really relate to these songs. this cd is so worth your $$$$$$$$$! RATINGS Lyrics: 5 Instrumentation: 5 Vocals: 5 Beat/Tune: 5 Overall: 5 I cannot stress how vital this cd is to everyone's health. you need this cd.
