Free Music Review: "One of the best albums of 1997!"
Hit: 5 Stars

I remember when I first heard this album. I hated everything on it because it wasn't liked "Semi-Charmed Life". Now that song is probably my least favorite on the album and the rest is great. This album is one of the most diverse albums in a long time. The first six tracks are all good radio friendly songs, but they are very honest songs too. That's something that radio friendly songs these days don't have (honesty). The surprise track of the album was "God of Wine". Its the prettiest track. Jenkins' vocals are amazing and different. The guitars go from soft to loud in an instant without sounding like the old cliche. "Burning Man" is on of those expierimental tracks that really catches the ear. "How's It Going To Be" is probably the best break up song that has come out in a while. Well unless you listen to country, but I won't degrade the band by comparing them to country. "Jumper" is one of those songs that really inspires you. It makes you want to reach out and help someone. Basically out of 14 tracks I can only say that two are only mediocre (not found too often in today's music). Stop comparing these guys to Matchbox 20. These guys have talent and diversity, something which their counterparts don't. Jenkins' vocals are so sweet and full of presence that you can't help but listen. The only thing I can say is that I hope their next one is as good as this one. Buy 3EB, you won't be sorry!

Free Music Review: The best album by the best band
Hit: 5 Stars

First of all, I would like to say If u don't have this cd, I feel so sorry for you! This is the best album in the world! All the songs rock! So, if my review helps you, go out and buy it NOW! Jenkins is my hero & always will be because of his amazing talent to sing and write the most beautiful lyrics in the world! All of the songs on here are great. But my personal fave is "The Background." Jenkins' voice goes great w/ the background. There are no words to describe the lyrics' greatness. Or Third Eye Blind's, for that matter. I wouldn't dare compare them to any other band 'cause they ARE like no other. The lyrics & the ability to make an awesome debut album are what set them apart from the others. The last four songs are my faves including "Jumper." And when I first heard "Semi-Charmed Life", I begged my mom to let me get the cd. I got it on the first day it came out & it hasn't been taken out my cd player YET! (Seriously!) I think I'm wearing it out-I'll have to get another one. For you people dissing Third Eye Blind, I can't respect you. Listen to this ENTIRE cd, and by the end, you will find that you have become a huge fan! Don't call Third Eye Blind pop because they aren't. They're more of a hard rock/alternative band. I recommend this cd for ALL music lovers so go out and buy it now!! You will not regret it, trust me!!

Free Music Review: simply beautiful
Hit: 5 Stars

ok lets get things straight. Matchbox20 doesn't equal Third Eye Blind. They are totally different perspective of rock. Matchbox20 "used" to be good, now they're just losing it. Third Eye Blind has some serious lyrics so i don't know what some of u are talking about. when u read/listen to the lyrics, they aren't trite or medicore or whatever. i mean have u ever heard a song about killing a teacher's son and a neighbor beating his wife (slow motion w. lyrics) or the fact that a special someone stands in the background. or that someone is equivalent to 1000 Julys. I mean their songs deal a lot with the real world. they aren't trying to be trite at all. the songs are also teen-related in a sense like they know what we're going through. and u know what, Stephan Jenkins has a beautiful voice. no one can sing like he does. i mean he's no male mariah carey, but he has a wonderful rockish grundge voice and you know what, live shows are not supposed to sound perfect. they're fun cause they're imperfect. the lyrics are so much more meaningful than Matchbox20's. Even though Tonic likes to keep on the same scale with al their songs, they still are able to produce good music. anywyas buy this album today cause every song has touched my life, and i think that in itself says more than a belief of them being too mundane for ur taste, cause they definately are not like any other rock band.

Free Music Review: save the best for last
Hit: 5 Stars

when i first got the cd for christmas, i didnt like it. so i put it away for a few months. i listened to matchbox 20 instead. then one day i decided that i was tired of rob thomas, so i threw in some 3eb and commited myself to learning the cd. it was one of the best musical decisions that ive ever made in my life. you know the songs that they released for radio play? i hardly ever listen to them. those songs are good, not great. this is a cd for anyone that thought that semi-charmed life was an ok song. or maybe that jumper was a bit overplayed. cuz the rest of the album has so little to do with the radio releases. and im so glad that they never released songs like i want you or god of wine. cuz then they would have been ruined. the last 4 songs are the albums best kept secrets. i find myself skipping to them over and over again. if youve never heard them, you cant fathom what they sound like. its so unlike anything youve ever heard, or ever expected to hear from 3eb. so leave your expectations at the door. motorcycle driveby is not only my favorite track on the cd, its my alltime favorite song. i keep thinking that i should have found a new fave song by now, but i havent. its been my favorite song for over 2 years. its amazing, and i wish that i could share it with everyone. sidenote: ive seen 3eb twice in concert, and theyve played it both times.

Free Music Review: Third Eye Blind's self-titled debut is incredible...
Hit: 5 Stars

Absolutely a classic, Third Eye Blind's self-titled debut is simply a must for ever fan of music. Without a doubt, a rock masterpiece, this album DOES NOT have a bad song on it. The songs are powerful, thoughtful, and incredibly infectious. Third Eye Blind manages to capture that fresh San Fran sound in their music, bringing a newness to the rock/pop scene. Led with Stephen Jenkins' one-of-a-kind sloppy vs. snazzy voice, the band delivers songs ranging from loud and proud, to the middle of the road pop ditty, to the subtly beautiful ballad-esque sound. However, although the 3-4 hit singles are incredible songs, the lesser known tunes are even that much better. I am not kidding. The music is almost indescribable with such a unique sound and true difference from contemporaries. Songs like "I want you", "Motorcycle Drive By" and "Background" are heart-wrenchingly beautiful, being brought to life with Third Eye Blind's talent and fresh style. Yet, for the rockers out there, songs such as "London" and "Good for You" will satisfy your primal needs! Even though the singles "Semi-Charmed Life" and "How's it goin' to be?" may have been overplayed to where you never want to hear from this band again, do not write them off. They are an under rated band when it comes to their actual music.
