Free Music Notes for Third Eye BlindFree Music Review: One of the top 5 albums released in the 90s; A Classic Hit: 5 Stars
Okay, so a few months ago, I had to replace my first copy of this CD and buy it again, because I had listened to my first copy so many times it was too scratched to listen to anymore. My second copy is already going through the abuse of being listened to so much.Let me tell you, this CD is a classic, and one of the top 5 albums released in the 90s, IF NOT THE BEST. There is not one bad somng on this album. The first song, "Losing a Whole Year" hooks you, takes you through the roller coaster of CD. I say roller coaster because this CD gets through more emotions in about an hour than some people feel in a year. Anger. Fun. Love. Reflection. Happiness. Despair. "Semi-Charmed Life" is a great song, but it's dampened by so much radio overplay. I'm sure "Jumper" has saved a lot of people who have been on the edge. "Jumper" touches on feelings that we all feel at some points in our lives, of suicidal thoughts. Tracks 11-14 on the CD ("I Want You", "The Background", "Motorcycle Drive By", "God of Wine") all make you sit and reflect on you and what's going on in your life. This album has been my therapy to get through everything: happy times, bad times, everything. There's no band I can compare Third Eye Blind to, they're like no one else. I strongly recommend this album.
Free Music Review: Third Eye Blind's Best Hit: 5 Stars
This is one of my favorite albums that I've ever heard. I was first introduced to 3EB with the catchy listenings of Semi Charmed Life, How's It Going to Be, and Jumper on the radio, until I finally bought the cd, and made the discovery that the best songs the band has ever written were never on the radio. This album is incredible; starting off, it seems, with anger and regret from a lost relationship, and ending with hope and despair...this cd is a journey and an amazing listening experience. It does have the catchy songs that never get old, but it has the songs that are some of the best songs I've ever heard, as a devoted 3EB fan, I still think the last four songs on this album, I Want You, The Background, Motorcycle Drive By, and God of Wine, are the best four songs this band has ever written. It's such an incredible end to such a good album, that their performance on their debut album has yet to be surpassed, in my opinion. The album's emotional output explores all those possible, and from the rock sound to the pop sound to the acoustic sound, underneath lie lyrics that take close listens in order to derive true meaning. If you do not own this cd, or have not heard the entire album, I highly recommend that you do so. There are songs on this album that are unlike their other two albums since, and the emotion, the music, and the lyrics are simply amazing!
Free Music Review: Absolutely captivating... Hit: 5 Stars
Okay, before I heard 3EB I was a pretty hardcore hip-hop listener. Then, I heard "Graduate (Remix)" on the "Can't Hardly Wait" Soundtrack and it changed my music genre preference forever. I must have played "Graduate" so many times the summer it came out. Then, finally, in 1997, the album was released, and boy was I amazed. Yes, people say it's just another "pop-rock" band, but they are one of the originators of good, new, pop-rock. Once "Semi-charmed Life" started getting airplay, everyone was hooked on 3EB. I admit, I got sick of "S-C L" but all the other songs on the self-titled debut were incredible. There wasn't a bad song on it. My other favorites include "Narcolepsy", "Jumper", "Thanks A lot", and of course, my favorite, "Graduate." Although I love all the songs, those are my favorites. And the best thing about 3EB is that Jenkins co-writes all the songs. 3EB doesn't have to have other people write songs for them like these other boy bands. Yes, this albums is three years old now, but it's great. It sounds new everytime I hear it. It's great, upbeat music that will put you in a great mood. If you like Vertical Horizon, Nine Days, or the Goo Goo Dolls, I would suggest buying 3EB's debut release. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Free Music Review: Definately 3EB's Best, Possibly Best Alternative Album Ever Hit: 5 Stars
Like me, most of you heard and probably liked the number of hits from Third Eye Blind's debut album: Semi-Charmed Life, Jumper, and How's It Going To Be. I liked these songs a lot but I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy the album, but I decided I'd give it a shot. It's definately one of the best buys I've ever made. This cd is simply incredible in its execution from beginning to end, and after hundreds of listens I'm still not sick of any of the songs. This is one of my favorite albums of all time, and it isn't primarily because of the hits, it's because of the jewels that no one has ever heard unless he/she has listened to the entire cd. The last four songs on this album are 3EB's best songs ever written in my opinion. The cd is one of those stories about a love, about a life, that is an emotional (and musical) rollercoaster if you will, accelerating through the fast songs and slowing down on the mellow ones, they're all heartfelt and extremely well written. Songs on Blue compare in songwriting, but not the music or the emotions you feel as you listen to this cd. If you don't have this cd, I recommend it highly to any kind of collection; it is definately one of the best debut albums ever released, and if you like Third Eye Blind at all, I'm sure you would love this album. Or just buy it to hear "motorcycle drive by," which is an unbelievable song.
Free Music Review: amazing Hit: 5 Stars
this by far is one great album.i have said to many people that this is one of the greatest albums in a long time and definetly one of the 90's best.i'm not your typical fan of music with this sound and style though.i'm a punk/oi! fan(i like other kinds of mucis too)but those are my two fav. styles.3eb's album helped me through two very tough years of my life.the lyrics on this album are some of the best ever.stephen jenkins is a underated song writer and musician(the 90's jim morrison-i know that's a little hard to belive but i feel that way about him)the songs have so much impact and emotion to them.the background is such a beautiful song as is mortocycle drive by,god of wine,i want you and jumper.they also take time to rock out with songs like graduate, losing a whole year, london, burning man and thanks alot.the album also contains the full version of semi charmed life(the song that introduced me to the band 4 months before the album was released)the onluy thing that should be on here is the b'side from the how's it going to be single and on a few soundtracks, horror show.i can't wait to hear what stephen and the boys comeout with next!!!!and by the way don't compare this band to bands like matchbox 20 and goo goo dolls who only try to write songs to get the fans and get hits.3eb have talent and can write.-jason
