What more needs to be said than these two words: Sutton Foster. With a clear voice and a range beyond imagining, Foster's brilliance and energy and joy shines through on this recording. Why did Broadway take so long to make her a star?!? The songs are pure joy and completely uplifting. Anyone in a bad mood only needs to put this on and be instantly cheered up. Jeanine Tesori updated and created new songs from the Julie Andrews movie from which this was based. Thank heavens she did! This music and lyrics shine. I just saw the show this past weekend. I loved it! Sutton was incredible. I really like the CD. I took it to the beach with me today and listened to it on the portable CD player. I was dancing on the beach, not just tapping the toes, I am sure people sitting around me thought I had problems. The music is fun, uplifting, light. Listening transported me back to my 5th row seat. I think the songs were much better in person, Sutton had such a strong voice and incredible stage presence -- but I enjoyed the CD. I like the swing/jazzy-ness of the music. I think this is a great CD to play for children to introduce them to fun show tunes.Free Music Review: A MUST HAVE for the Broadway fan!

This is what I think broadway is all about. The lights, dance and of course the music and singers. They are what is highlighted in this perfectly recorded recording of this "out of this world" musical. I saw Thoroughly Modern Millie last week, and it was an amazing experience not at all expected. The soundtrack is also "Thoroughly" amazing and enjoyable for easy listening anytime! Sutton Foster's voice is just complimented by Harriet Harris and Sheryl Lee Ralph etc... . Jeanine Tesori really out-did herself in this thoroughly witty comedy. I'd give it as many stars as you put out for me to give it!Free Music Review: Thoroughly Awesome!

Buy this CD! Each song is so wonderful. When I saw it in New York last summer I was blown away by the spectacular production and the beautiful voice of Sutton Foster (Mille). Seeing this show was such a great experience and really inspired me. Even though no CD can quite be as good as actually seeing it live, they still do a very good job. Go see the show....Right now. But if you can't, at least buy the CD. Be sure to check out the song "Gimme Gimme" which Millie sings. This is definetely the show-stopper song.There are so many great songs in "Thorougly Modern Millie" that are destined to be classics.
