Free Music Notes for Let It GoFree Music Review: Let It Play! Hit: 5 Stars
I have just returned home from Canada - travelled there to see Tim & Faith on their Soul2Soul Tour. The show was absolutely sensational, and I even got to shake the man's hand! Until I heard these songs performed live! I must admit I felt that the album was a little flat and heavy compared to previous Tim efforts, however I now have a newfound appreciation of their depth and McGraw's abilities. Diversity definitely a word which can be attributed to him and his prowess as a performner.
Between The River & Me marries the aural aspects of Garth Brooks' Thunder Rolls with the lyrics of the Dixie Chicks' Goodbye Earl, and it really works. The obligatory Tim & Faith duet is magnificent - I Need You's lyrics really demonstrate that with a gorgeous melody to boot. Last Dollar is as up-tempo as you can get - a great party tune. One further favourite is Suspicions which could easily be a soul artist performing - exceptional.
I hope Tim's next album has some more hopeful tracks on it, definitely. However as an artistic piece, the album is really quite flawless, with an impressive story-telling dexterity that so many song-writers can only aspire to.
Look forward to the next exciting chapter in the McGraw chronicles, and will DEFINITELY return to the US or Canada to hear the songs live! Britain really does not know what it is missing!
Free Music Review: McGraw's Best Hit: 5 Stars
A Tim McGraw album that borders on unlistenable, even trying to give it my full attention it slipped away into being little more than background noise. I was disapointed to say the least after the last album was so good, I played it again and decided I wasn't wrong, this album was a guy
going through the motions on thirteen rather dull songs that seemed to blend into each other without a change in gear. I played it for a third time a couple of days later to remind myself just how bad the whole thing was and........ I loved it. It has it's faults, some of the songwriting is Nashville by numbers, but on the whole this is some of Tim McGraw's best work, at times the music is moody and atmospheric in a way it has never been before and the whole thing sounds more like an album by a band than by a solo performer. I hope Tim can keep up this slight change in direction and I hope that people who buy this album give it at least three plays before deciding it's merits. This album is definitely a grower, it may take a while but stay with it and you too will love this music as much as I now do.
Free Music Review: Tim McGraw, Evolved Hit: 5 Stars
"Let It Go," is not the best country CD you will hear. Nor is it the worst. What it just might be is the stepping stone to the next chapter in Tim McGraw's career - the chapter where he's taken seriously as an artist.
No more barbecue stains on his white t-shirt and that makes some of you sad, doesn't it? Well, I guess Tim could stay the same as he was twenty years ago and we could all go back to high school and the world could stop evolving. Tim's an artist and he's trying to become a better one. This record is a huge step in the right direction.
He shows on so many of the tracks that he can convey so many different emotions other than sappy love or high school reminiscing. It's the same metamorphosis that George Strait went through and moved his career right along through the stratosphere, and I believe McGraw will accompany him.
Strong songs, strong vocals, bold new direction for Tim.
Free Music Review: truly amazing. Hit: 5 Stars
on july-21st, 2007, I went and saw Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill in concert. I've always been a fan of both of them for years now, but after seeing them in concert I can't get enough of them. This Cd is truly amazing!
Tim Mcgraw's voice is REAl. its definitely not perfect but the rawness of his voice goes right along with his raw- to- the- core lyrics. He talks about real life issues, which showcase his big heart. "I need you" will amaze you with his lyrics and FAith Hill's pitchy voice. Seeing this song performed live gave me chills, and it still does every time I hear it on the radio. BUY THIS CD! it is sooo worth it. A lot of people wondered if he would be able to create another awesome CD after Live like you were dying, and I think he did it brilliantly. its more of the same, and thats just the way we like it!
Free Music Review: Another Great CD From Tim Hit: 5 Stars
This is another great CD from Tim McGraw. The first single "Last Dollar (Fly Away)" was a number 1 for Tim but that was no surprise. His little girls sing on the very last part of the song and it sounds really cute. The second single is with wife Faith Hill. "I Need You" is another great duet with Faith and every song he sings with Faith just gets better. They make great music together. Other stand outs are "Between The River And Me", "Kristofferson", which is a tribute to Kris, He does a wonderful job on the Eddie Rabbitt classic "Suspicion". As a rule I do not like remakes of other singers songs but Tim does a spectacular job on this song. A good CD for the price and a great asset to any collection.
