Free Music Review: Possibly McGraw's best yet....
Hit: 5 Stars

Tim McGraw is a country legend, and this CD does nothing to hurt his standing. "Live Like You Were Dying", the number one country song of 2004, is a powerful portrayal of life and the way we live it; going to work everyday in an attempt to get more and more money. The song reminds us that we only get one life, and asks what we would do with it if we knew we were on our way out. "Drugs or Jesus" is an excellent portrayal of how many lives go today, and why we should make every decision rightly.
Just about every song is good, some better than others, but all told, this is probably my favourite McGraw CD yet. Can't wait for his next one!

Free Music Review: Foul
Hit: 1 Stars

Tim Mcgraw is horrible, he has absolutely no talent what so ever he pays someone tons of money to write his lyrics (which he sings like crap), he can't play any real instrument( maybe a tambourine), he sounds like everyone else on a country music station( no originality), and his music is filled with drug references, violence against women, and bad language.

Free Music Review: Exceptional, Pure, Great Album!
Hit: 5 Stars

There is nothing like a good consistent album of any genre. This was my very first country album. It has only been recently that I have taken an interest in country (specifically with Tim McGraw and Gretchen Wilson) and I'll just say that it has been a blast trying it out.

What is so fantastic about it, which is something that I already knew from just hearing some country on the radio and watching some videos, is the stories that each country song paints so effortlessly and flawlessly. This is enhanced even more if the album is well crafted.

LIVE LIKE YOU WERE DYING is a well crafted album in general. It it is a very well crafted country album that can appeal to more worlds than just the world of country. McGraw is an exceptional singer whether he is singing upbeat per "How Bad Do You Want It" or whether he is singer a ballad as somber as the Grammy Winning title track "LIVE LIKE YOU WERE DYING".

This album is engaging and in some ways soothing. It is just so pure. My other favorites: "My Old Friend", "Can't Tell Me Nothin'", "Drugs Or Jesus", "Back When", "Open Season on My Heart", and "Everybody Hates Me". I couldn't say that any of these songs don't have a great story or a great story. This is an album filled with beautiful enjoyable songs. Great, Great, Great!!!

Free Music Review: Pretty good, but it could be better.
Hit: 4 Stars

Well, first of all, I love TIm McGraw, and anyone who says he's not country just must not be listening. This IS a country CD, but it is definitely contemporary country.

This CD is worth the $, but I definitely like some of Tim's older albums better. Set This Circus Down and A Place in the Sun have better songs on them, but Live Like You Were Dying has 16 songs, and there are some great ones.

I love How Bad Do You Want It. Tim's voice is perfect for it, and that song describes exactly what he went through trying to make it to the top. Drugs or Jesus is another great song that has a lot of meaning and is very well done, although it hasn't moved up the country charts very fast.
One of my very favorite songs turned out to be Kill Myself. It's actually a very inspiring song about a man who has changed himself for the woman that he loves.

All in all, it's a good CD and I would recommend it.

Free Music Review: Pure Hypocrisy
Hit: 1 Stars

How can this guy complain about the music currently being played on country radio when he IS one of the primary sources of the "pop-country epidemic"? If that was a feeble attempt to draw in people who like their country music real, it failed miserably. Maybe he should try practicing what he preaches instead of trying to make a quick buck off of sappy, pop-laden songs.

Oh, and by the way... why is McGraw catergorized as being a new traditionalist/outlaw according to amazon.com? I don't know what they've been listening to, but he's about as far from traditional/outlaw country as you can get. Get it right and catergorize him with the artificial bubblegum pop acts where he belongs.
