Free Music Review: Now That's More Like It!

Tim Wilson is one of the funniest people in the world when he's on. He hasn't been on for a while. His last three have been a bit less than great - "Gettin' My Mind Right" was less than good - so I approached this one with apprehension. What a nice surprise. This is his best in a long time, and what a great concept. Working as a one episode spoof of The Soul Train, Tim
plays every character: from Corny Donnelius to the kids in the audience. There are many strong spots on this Cd, including the great "Booty Man" and "Crematorium For Sale", and the hilarious "Ward Burton Train". There are only a couple of weaker spots ("Woman Repellant", "Cell Hell") and these aren't filler, just a notch below the great stuff. I can't wait to see how this is done live, as I don't see a way for Tim to tour with a working R&B band complete with horn section. The instrumentals ending the album back up the musical integrity and heartfelt work that went into this project, making it that much more appealing. In closing, buy this cd. Your friends will want it, so watch it carefully.
