Free Music Review: The "Times" series is a great introducion to old time re-issues

When it comes to re-issues of 78s many can't get past the surface noise to hear the music underneath. Yazoo has done an admirable job of cleaning that surface noise without destroying the underlying music. If you like old time music - and old time blues, the various Yazoo collections are a great way to discover the gutsy originals and get a perspective on the real music and the real musicians. Get down off that mountain and hear to some music that hasn't been processed like supermarket cheeze food.
There are 7 more volumes in this series and a dozen other great old time collections on Yazoo plus a wonderful DVD of old time performances (also called - "Times Ain't Like They Used To Be") I recommend them all
