Free Music Review: Rolling To Tina
Hit: 5 Stars

I always hear so much about artists that really are just too annoying. From manufactured artists like our Milli Vanilli Jennifer Lopez, to wannabes Madonna's like Britney Spears. Yet, we really seem to often forget about true and definitive legends. That has truly been that way with Cher, Patti LaBelle, Aretha Franklin, and of course Tina Turner. Since her breakout in the late 50's, she came out with avengance. Yet, so many people did forget at a time, but she came back again still struting her stuff. Yet, with all he success, she still hasn't even stopped for a minute.

All The Best, the 2005 greatest hits collection is a very detailed reflection of Tina on her solo efforts away from her ex-hubby Ike Turner, and really displays her career since her massive comeback with Private Dancer in the 80's. The double album includes a lot of great songs here including hits like What's Love Got To Do WIth It, We Don't Need Another Hero from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, I Don't Wanna Fight, When The Heartache Is Over, and Goldeneye to name a few. The songs sound much better than her previous 1991 collection Simply The Best and really displays Tina very, very well. Yet, there is one downside to this collection. It really doesn't focus in on much of her days with Ike Turner, other than hits like River Deep, Mountain High and Proud Mary. Still, for die hard Tina fans, it really doesn't make much of a hastle.

While so many greatest hits collection don't stand out very well, Tina Turner's All The Best is a great hits collection that really brings out the best of a living legendary diva that is still standing today. Hopefully, the younger generation can really appreciate and listen to this icon.

Free Music Review: TINA: RIVER DEEP, MOUNTAIN HIGH
Hit: 5 Stars

Tina Turner's latest greatest collection poises her music and star image in a contemporary setting which equally balances her rock fan base with her pop-R&B fan base better here than on previous compilations. For the first time on an American release, her original Phil Spector[1966]produced ultra perfect single, "River Deep, Mountain High" - and two pivotal rockers, the defining "Proud Mary"[1971; reTINAfied here from 1993], and her own self composed[1973]classic "Nutbush City Limits", find themselves finely sequenced along side her long string of monumental solo hits from the 1980's through the new millenium. "ALL THE BEST" spans a whopping memorable 40 years and 33 tracks, with TINA's solo recording career as the epicenter. Her reggae tinged duet with David Bowie, lilting rockfest with Bryan Adams and exquisite rock duet, "COSE DELLA VITA" with Italian superstar EROS RAMAZOTTI[which he sings in Italian as she joins him in English]are among the highlights. Soundtrack hits are well represented, save the missing "One Of The Living", yet, there is plenty here to make up that omission. Three new tracks, the gorgeous ballad, "Something Special" - fiery "Complicated Disaster" and latest single, "Open Arms"[not the old Journey song!]bring Miss Turner to the current/present and we find her majesty the ultimate Queen of Rock singing as vibrantly and in fine vocal form as she ever has been. ALL THE BEST is an impressive document of a vital and influential musician's artistry, and much like the title of that long ago milestone, her work remains a RIVER DEEP, MOUNTAIN HIGH marvel in music history.[Note: All of you who might lament her "Ike & Tina" era, there are numerous reissues in print to satisfy your needs. ALL THE BEST is all about TINA.]

Free Music Review: The Song She Missed
Hit: 5 Stars

With the release of Tina Turner - All the Best, I am reminded of Tina's search for the perfect Theme Song for the release of her "What's Love Got to Do With It" Life Story. At the time, her Record Label searched high and low for a song that would sum up her life and serve as a Fitting theme for the movie and Lead Single for the Soundtrack. At the Eleventh Hour with Deadlines looming, Recording Artist Sade recommended that Tina consider a remake of LuLu's "I Don't Wanna Fight". And that song became the film's Theme. It was a hit but did not enjoy success at the level of Tina's previous "What's Love Got to Do With It" and "Better Be Good to Me" tracks. And somehow the song did not capture Tina's energy and triumphant rise to Superstardom despite all the odds.

Flash Forward, October 2004. Dutch Born, New York City resident Marie Claire Cremers, better known as Amber, releases her CD "My Kind of World" to unanimous RAVE reviews. The CD contains a Declaration of Independence Track "Sacrificial Lamb" with Powerhouse lyrics: "Set Me Free: I Know It Hurts; It's Like a Lost Paradise; Now You're Crying; Now You're Dying; Like a Sacrificial Lamb". And the PERFECT Theme for that Movie so many years ago surfaces.

The New Tracks on Tina's "All the Best" are frankly disappointing. Surely a Global Superstar of Tina's calibre could find better material than "Open Arms". My advice to Tina Fans is to buy "All the Best" and also check out Amber - My Kind of World and hear the kind of material that Tina "Should be" recording. The later CD is available through the Boutique at www.Amber-MCC.com.

Free Music Review: A Great Look At Tina's Long Career
Hit: 5 Stars

Between her voice and those fine, fine legs, Tina Turner is one of the greatest female singers of all time. With a career spanning nearly 50 years, from her days with Ike Turner to her even more successful solo career, you'd think putting together a 2 disc cd of all of her biggest hits would be a hard task. However, the producers of "All The Best" managed to pull this feet off perfectly.

"All The Best" is a solid 2 disc sampling of Tina's biggest hits and best songs, including "What's Love Got To Do With It", "The Best", "Proud Mary", "We Don't Need Another Hero", "Typical Male" and "Private Dancer". Also, this cd goes up to 2004 while 1989's "The Best" only went up to, well, 1989. This means that great post - eighties songs like "Why Must We Wait Until Tonight", "Missing You" "Goldeneye" and my all time favorite Tina song, 1993's huge hit "I Don't Wanna Fight" are all included.

To entice buyers who already own these songs, three new songs have been added to this collection. They are "Open Arms" (not a cover of the Journey classic), "Complicated Disaster" and "Something Special". They're very good songs and hold up well agains the many classics featured here.

Overall, an excellent documentation of Tina's career. Hopefully, she will come out of retirement and gives us a long awaited comeback tour. I saw this woman 5 years ago at Madison Square Garden, and she sure knows how to put on a great show. Until then, this should hold most fans over.

Free Music Review: I am wowed and renewed!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is my very first Tina Turner CD audio! Tina's latest 2-disc set CD is simply fantastic! I purchased this album to include it in my collection of music from the 1980's (the best and most creative musical period of the late 20th century, IMHO), and therefore, only expected Tina to wow me with her 80's music. In fact, I last listened to her music in the early/mid 1980's when radio stations played her hit tracks "We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)," "Private Dancer," and "What's Love Got To Do With It." I also enjoyed "It's Only Love," which I had thought was from a Bryan Adams album. Since the 80's I sort of lost track (no pun intended) of Tina's music.

Although I'm still in the process of listening to all of her 33 audio works of art in this collection, I am happy to say that I'm a "renewed" casual fan of Tina Turner! Her music from the 1990's and today are enticing. I enjoy the combination of bold lyrics, diversity of musical styles, and upbeat tempo. She sings some of the sexiest songs that I have ever heard in pop/R&B music. You need to seriously consider buying this set - it is worth every penny (every 64 cents per track!) To my delight, this collection also includes some of her latest singles. The sound quality is superb!

If Tina ever reads reviews at Amazon, I want to say to her: Your are still the best! Thanks for including so much of your wonderful music in this collection!
