Free Music Notes for 3dFree Music Review: The last of TLC. RIP Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. Hit: 5 Stars
TLC. Everyone knows them. They are the most famous girl group of all time, and also the best selling. If you find one person who doesn't know who they are, they have been living in a hole for the past decade. TLC has suffered a loss as we all know, the death of Lisa Left Eye Lopes, also known as the crazy member of the group. TLC is no longer TLC, they are now TC. But TLC will live on forever in our hearts and in our memories. The good times they have brought us will always be imprinted in our heads for the rest of our life. The charisma, beauty, energy, and sassiness of TLC will go on forever. Just because they suffered a tragic loss doesn't mean they all died. They did what Lisa wanted. They kept on pushing, as hard as it probably was, and finished the album. May Lisa Lopes rest in peace. She will be missed greatly.1. 3D (8/10) - This serves more as an intro than anything else. It's still pretty good. Really upbeat, but so incredibly short. 2. Quickie (10/10) - I love this song! It's so fun. Lisa is on this song. It's very upbeat and guitar driven. The song is about a guy who claims he is G.I.B....but they soon find out otherwise. Definately a stand-out track. This was supposed to be their first single, but they changed it to Girl Talk. 3. Girl Talk (8/10) - The first single. It's upbeat and old school TLC. T-Boz put it perfectly on the TLC special on MTV. It's about how girls talk behind guys backs, just as guys do. Guys tend to think they are exempt from the rule, but it's very untrue. 4. Turntable (9/10) - There is a sticker on the plastic film on the album saying this song is a tribute to Lisa. It's a really sweet song produced by mastermind Rodney Jerkins. It's a kind of happy ballad, but the message is really sad. It's about living life day by day, and not living in regret. 5. In Your Arms Tonight (7/10) - Wow...this is the first time I've given a Neptunes produced song an average rating. I found myself not getting into it. It's not all that funky like they usually are. The pace is a little slow for something Pharell or Chad would work on. 6. Over Me (9/10) - This track is really fun! In the beginning it has Chilli's kid Tron saying "We're gonna make 'em dance!" It's really cute. But the rest of the song is really gritty sounding. Very fun. 7. Hands Up (9/10) - This song is about the girls going to the club to have fun...but they run into their boyfriends only to find them dancing with some other girls. As they refer to them, hoochies. It's a mid tempo ballad. It's really eerie and pretty. 8. Damaged (7/10) - I don't like these kinds of songs. Their happy ballads kind of disturb me... The meaning is still good, but the song itself doesn't appeal to me very much. 9. Dirty Dirty (10/10) - WOW!!! This song is such a club song!!! It's so fun!!! As the title says, it's really dirty, gritty, and raw. Pure fun, produced and co-written by Missy Elliot. There's even a little tribute to Lisa in here. Missy asks for a moment of silence, but it only lasts for like a millisecond. Still sweet of her. 10. So So Dumb (10/10) - Bring on the R&B! I love this song. It's sweet and fun...but very true at the same time. Some people can be really dumb at times :P But that's something that can easily apply to everyone. 11. Good Love (7/10) - The last of the happy ballads! HOORAH! It's not a bad meaning or anything, the background music just disturbs me. 12. Hey Hey Hey Hey (9/10) - Another really fun gritty song! If this was released as a single, it would have tons of great remixes. I'm not quite sure what the song is about...but who cares! This track doesn't seem like it was meant to be very meaningful. It's just pure fun. 13. Give It To Me While It's HOT (10/10) - The name of this track is really misleading. It's another upbeat ballad that sounds unbelievably eerie. This is my second favorite track. It's such a great way to end the album. The lyrics don't really fit with the music though :P. It's basically about sex. A great final effort from TLC...Chilli is working on a solo album, watch out for that. Left Eye has a lot of unreleased songs that might be released. T-Boz has no plans at the moment for a solo project. Maybe T-Boz and Chilli will make a duo group? Maybe not. As they said, TLC is forever. Even if all three members aren't alive, they are all alive in our minds and in our hearts. R.I.P. Lisa Lopes. You're place in the music and entertainment community, and our hearts, is eternal.
Free Music Review: A BRILLIANT END OF THE CHAPTER Hit: 5 Stars
As the last TLC record, '3D' has a significant role in TLC discography. If you play the game by the rules, you always should end the chapter with a brilliant effort. At this point '3D' meets all the expectations of any TLC fans out there and without a doubt it is a great end of the 10 year-TLC show. Since 'Fanmail', it is obvious to see that Chili, T-Boz and Lisa has grown a lot in this record. After the sudden death of Lisa (R.I.P Left Eye), nobody ever thinks that they can make it this far but '3D' prooves all of them wrong.Instead of completeing the album without Lisa, '3D' may sound a tribute album dedicated to Lisa but actually it is not. You can feel that Lisa is still there, putting all that energy and putting her heart in this record. Although she is involved in only four songs, T-Boz and Chili made this record feel like Lisa is in the studio recorded the other songs as well. With a great intro reaching the success of 'Fanmail' intro, this album grooves on you from the very first listening.Quickie + 5 outta 5 + Lisa outs all her heart on this energic and funny track. I guess it can do better as the first single instead of 'Girl Talk'. Girl Talk + 4 outta 5 + With killing beats, this song has it all. T-Boz sounds very hot on this one but you can still get tired of this track after three or more listening. Turntable + 5 outta 5 + A tribute track dedicated to Lisa by Darkchild and her bandmates. The song has a great message and very positive vibe throughout , surely become the best ballad that is written by Darkchild after Spice Girls' ''Time Goes By''. In Your Arms Tonight + 4,5 outta 5 + Produced by Neptunes, 'In you Arms' is another classic Neptunes track that can be added in gold series of the band. T-Boz and Chili gives great vocals as the melody gets you from your heart. Over Me + 5 outta 5 + Another highlight of the album after 'Turntable' and 'Quickie'. The verses and the chorus is brilliant, you can't get enough of this song. As Lisa gives the greatest rap part ever, 'Over Me' has everything that a 'single' track can have.So release it girlz !:) Hands Up + 4,5 outta 5 + The title may sound like an uptempo track but it is not. With hot chorus and a sexy vibe, this slow down track can summarize the r'n'b world of today. HOT, HOT, HOT. Damaged + 5 outta 5 + Another highlight of the album. 'Damaged' can be included in Greatest Hits album without a second thought. As I said earlier the girls has grown up a lot since 'Fanmail' and 'Damaged' just shows that. I brings urban flavour with rock vibe which sounds very unlike TLC work but you shoulda try that one. T-Boz and Chili rocks as T-Boz writes the greatest lyrics in her life so far. Dirty Dirty + 3,5 outta 5 + It is produced and written by Missy and Timbaland so I expected a lot from bthis track be4 listening to it till I found that it has nothing to do with any earlier Timbaland and Missy stuff. Very dissappointing. The only track I skip in the entire album. So So Dumb + 4,5 outta 5 + Another brilliant track with good lyrics. T-Boz and Chili shows their vocal strenghts till the end. Good Love + 5 outta 5 + Another amazing track that simply reachs the quality of other highlights in this album. Hey Hey Hey Hey + 4,5 outta 5 + The title may sound like a chessy track waiting for you but it has nothing to do with that. Great beats and cool vocals. Check it out yo! Give It To Me While It's Hot + 4,5 outta 5 + A great end for the album and for TLC history. Lisa is involved in that one. Sexy beats , hot vocals and fun to listen to.What more can I ask from TLC? They end the chapter with a brilliant act. *** As the curtains go down, we all shoulda thank TLC for the brilliant music they have given to us for about 10 years. Lisa may your soul rest in peace; you , T- Boz and Chili made history that we are not gonna forget and we are not gonna make it forgotten. This album is a brilliant end of TLC era (as T-Boz and Chili will go as a duo, I wish all the luck to them ; I will support them no matter what and Lisa is really proud of YOU ,girls)... And now to all of you :Appreciate the good music please ;)
Free Music Review: They Brang It To Us In 3D Hit: 5 Stars
TLC is always and forever gonna be the best girl group of all time.. When I first saw them on MTV doing a special to promote a new album I was surprised Left Eye was gone and it was just the other two.. And when I saw Girl Talk I just thought "TLC is back and i know they gonna do it big" When i saw 3D in stores i was very happy and bought it and it was like reliving the TLC days it's a CD that describes TLC and the memories we all remember of them Crazy, Sassy, Funny, Party Girls, Sexy, and Cool.. 3D wraps up the TLC chapter with 13 songs with 4 of them featuring the late Lisa Lopes who died before the album was released and she recorded plenty of NEW raps for the album but only 2/4 were put on the songs
1)3D 5/5- This is a party song this is a great way to start off the album
2)Quickie 5/5- The song talks about a man who isn't serious in the bed and Left Eye is in it but the rap was not meant for the song and the intro was re used from Lisa's Solo Album but the song is another great party song TLC brings in the Craziness to the song
3)Girl Talk 5/5- This is like No Scrubs Pt 2 this is the best song on the whole entire album.. this is the REAL RAP that Lisa did for the album and it was for the song.. This song was a great single and it's one of those songs you gotta get up and dance too "Oo OOO!"
4)Turntable 3/5- A Tribute to Lisa Lopes gets credit but It's waaaaay too short for a tribute but Chilli really gives her all in this song and it's a very inspiring song to all those who are having problems in life.. The message is telling everyone that good will come after bad just look to the good things in life.. Great song, Average Tribute
5)In Your Arms Tonight 2/5- This song is really boring and slow produced by Pharrell and the Neptunes
6)Over Me 4/5- This song is cool TLC is trying to say that you gotta get over me i gave you everything but you didn't want and now you want me but too bad for you.. This is one of the songs where they recycled Lisa's rap from the Supernova song titled "I Believe In Me" it sorta fits in the song
7)Hands Up 3/5- This song talks about a man who says he's gonna be at home with his boys while his lady goes to the club and gets her groove on but then she starts to realize that her man is all up in the club on the other ladies.. Average song i prefer the Richard X Remix
8)Damaged 5/5- A GREAT SONG! Unpretty Pt 2 This song is very good! People didn't like it as a single but this is definetly a TLC hit.. The song is about a girl/guy that has been hurt from something that has happened and he/she is in love but he/she is trying to make the lover understand that "i've been hurt but want you to understand that i still like you" this is a great song even though it has that country vibe
9)Dirty Dirty 1/5- This song is really trash the beat and music is really stupid Missy and Timbaland made a garbage song
10)So So Dumb 5/5- This is a great song it talks about a guy who has a wife and she thinks he's very faithful to her but he goes around and messes with other girls.. i love this song T-Boz and Chilli sound great!
11)Good Love 3/5- It's ok more of the popish type of song the vocals are great though
12)Hey Hey Hey 3/5- Another boring song on the album although its a party song
13)Give It To Me While It's Hot 3/5- Ok song Lisa is on it with another one of her recycled raps from Supernova the song is titled "Friends" if the rap went on it would've been much better but still it's OK
Overall: T-Boz and Chilli did their best to put out another album.. This is the final TLC album unless they decide to release Unreleased songs.. This was expected to sell lots but sadly it sold 1.5 million copies.. No matter what you'll always remember TLC and their music.. This was a great effort by T-Boz and Chilli and they did what they had to do.. We'll forever miss TLC and Lisa Left Eye Lopes but the memories of TLC will live on! 5/5 stars
Free Music Review: The smoothness still flows like wine.... Hit: 5 Stars
TLC maybe minus one member, due to tragic circumstances (for those of you who've had their head buried on Mars, that's Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes) but thank god most of this album was recorded before her death, as it would be a miscarriage of justice not to see a fine album like this being released. Ten years after TLC first arrive on the music scene, and it shows they can still carry their powerful voices through the Ashantis' & Alicia Keys'of 2002. The album is a kind of extension of 'FanMail' which experiments in futuristic-retro sounds. This is how the tracks rate: 1.3D:Intro (I can't really rate that for you, but if I did it would be about a 7). 2.Quickie: A fresh-sounding song about a boy who met T-Boz/Left Eye/Chilli (delete most unimaginable) on a summer fling and left her abrubtly. Has a catchy hook, and of course the distinguishing TLC sound. 8/10 3.Girl Talk: As far as this song goes, the lyrics make it kind of like No Scrubs part 2, but the actual song is nothing to scream about. It's probably not an accurate representation of how good the album is. 7/10 4.Turntable: a good strong ballad song, which I presume was written in tribute to Left Eye. It's about how life is unfair now, but one day everything will be different. Considering this song is produced by Rodney Jerkins (see Brandy or Toni Braxton), it's a bit of a different approach for him. 8/10 5.In Your Arms Tonight: Another tried 'N' tested Neptunes production, which is probably less romantic (what it aims to be) and more flat (what it is). It does nothing to extend or fuse their vocals, I'm sure the girls could have done better. 5/10 6.Over Me: Smooth & sexy, back to the typical TLC formula. It's another 'Rodney' production and it's about how a guy has gotta get over the girl, cos she knows she's to good for him. Pretty good. 8.5/10 7.Hands Up: Song of the album or what??? I've always loved TLC slow jams and this one is no exception. The pure classiness of these three ladies comes out on this track, which produces perfect harmony about a guy who gets his game on behind his girl's back. They have to release this, as it is just dynamite! 10/10 8.Damaged: This is an Unpretty-esque song, in a similar vein about a girl who's afraid to fall in love again after being hurt emotionally in a previous relationsip. You have to love this song, as it is typivval TLC, and back to the original (and still the best) old skool style. 9/10 9.Dirty Dirty: As you've probably guessed by the title, this is a Timbaland production, and it's pretty dope, but the lyrics are a bit sparse, as it has no particular focus apart from 'gettin down'. Sit back, enjoy the ride and bounce to the beat (as well as the hollas by Missy Elliot throughout. 7.5/10 10.So So Dumb: Another slow jam about this girl T-Boz/Lef Eye/Chilli is cheating on with her boyfriend, and how she's so beautiful, but yet so foolish not to notice. Pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking. 7/10 11.Good Love: Sounds a bit like Waterfalls, but goes tor a totally different vibe. Pretty good song for chilling, driving in the car, or 'gettin' in tha mood'. Nuff-said. 8/10 12.Hey Hey Hey Hey: Another 'get out of my house' kind of song. It sounds like it should have been made for someone else, but T-Boz vocals carry the tune out pretty well, if you like that kind of thing. 7/10 13.Give It To Me While It's Hot:A good song about a boy with bad intentions and a girl who's not ready for what she's about to get, but acts like she is. I like Left Eye's narrative bit in the middle which makes her sound a bit like Eminem lyrically (which isn't a bad thing). 8.5/10 Overall it's another high production album from the trio, but it has a kind air of tradgedy about it, to think it may be their last. It's more futuristic than FanMail, but it still maintains that sassiness and sexuality of any hot TLC production, and I can safely say that even with all the manufacturing and overproduction you don't have to listen to it in a certain way, unlike most albums.
Free Music Review: Best Wishes For TLC Hit: 5 Stars
TLC, the most successful female group of all time, is back and they've done it again. With the strength of the surviving members TLC presents 3D. Their newest cd made for the fans. It's TLC at their best with what's probably their second best cd ever made only shadowed in comparison by CrazySexyCool. For the past ten years T-Boz, Left Eye and Chilli have blessed us all with their music, their talent, letting us see into their personal lives and letting us into their hearts. Now that Lisa has passed, although it feels like we've all lost a sister, I think I speak for all the fans when I say thank you to T-Boz and Chilli for keeping the music alive and allowing Left Eye to live in our hearts forever. We love you TLC!1. 3D - A great intro into the world of 3D. It's fun and funky and TLC at their best. Gotta love the intros. 5/5 2. Quickie - This song is alot like the songs on their first cd. It's silly, upbeat and alot of fun. I think the title of the song gives you an idea of what it's about. 5/5 3. Girl Talk - This is the first single from the album that's being played all over MTV and radios everywhere. People seem to like it alot and I do too, but the more you listen to it, it just sounds alot like stuff they've done before. 4/5 4. Turntable - This is one of my favorite tracks on the cd. One listen to the chorus and it's over with. This song is a definite winner. I hope it's the next single, because it really shows where the group is at in their lives now. It's upbeat, positive and has a great inspirational message for everyone. It's alot along the lines of one of their most popular songs, Unpretty. 5/5 5. In Your Arms Tonight - This is one of the weaker tracks on the album. It's produced by The Neptunes who's sound is growing more tired and annoying by the minute. Even if it doesn't sound like alot of their past work, it's still annoying and doesn't feel right on this cd. It stops the flow the cd has going and by the time you get to it, you'll immediately wanna skip it. 2.1/2 /5 6. Over Me - My favorite song on the cd! This is a great dance song that picks up the pace the previous song began to slow down. It's about the girls telling the scrubs in their lives that they lost their chance so they're moving on and the scrubs just need to get over them. Awesome song. I'm totally feelin this vibe and I hope they make this a single. Left Eye raps about burning down her man's house for the first time. 5/5 7. Hands Up - This is a song about finding your man cheating on you at a club when he said he was gonna be elsewhere. Great song, but not my fave. 3.1/2 /5 8. Damaged - A great song about getting the courage to move on from a relationship that burned you in the past and allowing yourself to love and trust again. 4/5 9. Dirty Dirty - This is my second favorite song on the cd. Chilli really lets loose on this track and has more fun here than she has on any previous albums since Oooohhh On The TLC Tip. Its funky and futuristic and a song that will make you get up and get dirty. Not to be confused with Dirrty of course. 5/5 10. So So Dumb - A slow jam that's kinda sad about letting yourself get hurt and trusting the wrong person. Very good song. 4/5 11. Good Love - Ok, the cd is slowing down and mellowing out and it's just not my kinda thing. I'll be fair. 3/5 12. Hey Hey Hey Hey - Picks back up the tempo a bit. Another good song! Not my fave, but still prettly crazysexycool. 3/5 13. Give It To Me While It's Hot - This song is kind of misleading. Its mid tempo and makes you think it's gonna speed up and get really hot, but then towards the end it makes you think that maybe it's gonna slow down and there'll be an outro dedicated to Lisa, but then the cd just ends. Kinda disappointing. 2/5 All in all an almost perfect cd that every true TLC fan will be all over. Obviously made with the fans in mind, this cd is VERY satisfying. Another job well done for TLC! My best wishes go out to them.
