Free Music Review: TLC: Triumph...Longevity...Creativity
Hit: 5 Stars

The dawn of the revamped TLC spawned many concerns from the public. People wondered if the group could recover from constant quarrel rumors, personal/private life issues (T-boz sturggling with sickle-cell anemia, Chili finally connecting with her birth father after 20 years of absence, Left-eye burning down her beloved fiance's multi-million dollar home) and their notoriously publicized bankruptcy, TLC proved that with faith, a plan, and endless support from die-hard devoted fans, anything is possible. TLC broke records and shined through with this groundbreaking, solid album.

I loved everything this album, to say the least. If I were able to change anything about it I wouldn't, not even the order of the tracks. I loved the "futuristic" theme TLC used in the computer-generated sounds and kinky voices on the interludes to represent the future. There pain, pleasure, lust, laughter, honesty, humility, anguish, audacity, character, and courage..and TLC didn't miss a beat (literally.)

I believe this album has something that everyone can relate to, no matter who you are or where you come from. I can personally relate to 'Dear Lie,' I felt that track really hit home and taught me alot about my own vulnerability. This album is practically 7 years old and I still listen to it to this very day, faithfully...that is a true classic.
Standout tracks: Silly Hoe, I Miss You So Much, Dear Lie, Unpretty, Fanmail, I'm Good At Bein Bad, and My Life.

Free Music Review: One of my favourite albums ever.....
Hit: 5 Stars

FANMAIL is by far one of the greatest records my ears ever heard...(this album is up their with 'janet.' by janet jackson, 'aailyah' by aaliyah, 'midnight love' by marvin gaye and 'around the world in a day' by prince)...

FANMAIL has timeless songs like "dont put out on me yet", "dear lie" and "lovesick". TO the hard hitting car bumpers "shout", "silly ho", and "good at being bad"...

The only problem with this album is the non-rap version of 'no scrubs'. Left Eye was brilliant (and funny) on the rap version with the lyrics: "...focus on the picture in front of me/ you as clear as DVD on digital TV screen..." My mind was boggled with excitment when I saw this on the video for the first time... If the record company re-released this album please include the rap version...

My personal favourite songs on this album has to be the title track 'fanmail' and 'lovesick'. 'fanmail' is dedicated to all of their fans. the beat is sick and the lyrics are ohhh so deep... 'lovesick' has a crazy beat as well. i have not heard a song before with a telephone beep as a beat for a song. I love the futuristic feel to the song... T-Boz made me laugh about her being on ricki lake...

Overall this is by far their greatest work (my opinion)... comebacks are hard to come by and they did it with a smooth, hard-hitting force... YOU WILL NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT ALL I GUARANTEE IT!!!!!

Free Music Review: TLC: new and fresh
Hit: 5 Stars

From 1992 with the release of their first CD, Oooooooh.. on the TLC tip, to 1994 with the release of their second CD, Crazysexycool, to now with TLC's newest release Fanmail in 1999, this group has had over 8 #1 singles and earned two Grammys in 1996. With their "how-it-is" lyrics mixed with hot R&b beats, the group's latest CD is nothing short of Exceptional. Track 3 on the CD, "Silly Hoe" is a mix of funky beats, sirens, and followed up by TLC's well known " how-it-is " style with the lyrics. This mix in my opinion was done extremely well by the group which totally made the song! Then track5, "no scrubs" ( ok, before I even START commenting on this, who honestly hasn't heard or heard of this song? ) shows TLC's feminist side. ( ya know the whole 'I have money, I don't want a guy without a car or that lives at home'kinda stuff ) Then there is Track 9, "unpretty". This song talks about how guys can take a girl's self-esteem down. With these three songs, TLC's mood toward the CD ( 'screw men, women kick' sorta thing ) is extremely loud, explict, and quite apparent. So, with TLC's talent, they managed to create yet another great CD. Even with their changes of style over the years ( from in-your-face sexuality to a more mature laid-back sound ) they still manage to make phenomonal music and an all around, fabulous CD.

Free Music Review: One of the best albums I own!
Hit: 5 Stars

TLC's 1999 hit album "FanMail" (5+ million copies sold) didn't exactly hit the chart-topping success of 1995's "CrazySexyCool" (over 11 million copies sold & the most successful hip-hop album to date), but it still qualifies as TLC's best tied with CrazySexyCool. Unlike their hit 1995 effort, "FanMail" focues more on futurustic, digital synthesizer beats courtesy of longtime producer Dallas Austin. If this album were released today, it would still be a hit. Every song on here is listenable, including the singles "No Scrubs" and "Unpretty" which we've all heard before and listened out on the radio. In my opinion singles like "Dear Lie" and "I'm Good At Being Bad" deserved more airplay. "Silly Ho" the first single is a great upbeat song with Timbaland style beats. I also like the tender "Come On Down" written by Diane Warren. Another highlight is the concluding "Don't Pull Out On Me Yet" reminiscent of En Vogue. If you enjoyed their 1995 hit "CrazySexyCool" then you'll enjoy their other best work "FanMail." I was very dissapointed with their latest effort, "3D" because I was expecting so much from them and it was a let down. "FanMail" was a deserved success and should have sold more copies. Reccomended: A+

Free Music Review: I don't know what he would do if he knew that you were comin
Hit: 5 Stars

Anyone that has followed TLC over their three albums knows that these women are talented. On their first album they were addressing younger crowds. "Ain't Too Proud To Beg", "What About Your Friends" and "Baby, Baby, Baby" were examples of this. On "CrazySexyCool" they were a little older and the music and lyrics symbolized that. On, "Fanmail" TLC has grown up all around. Personally, Spiritually, Lyrically and Musically. "Fanmail" sounds like CrazySexyCool 2000 which isn't bad at all because Dallas Austin does his job very well, with Babyface and others lending an assist every now and then. The music, lyrics and the overall album are on a different level this time around. The clear cut examples of this are "Silly Ho", "If They Knew",which is the best song, "I Miss You So Much, "Lovesick", and the song even your 45 year old mother has heard on the radio "No Scrubs". Many people thought TLC couldn't do it again and whether the group stays together or not is not even the point. If female r&b groups want to learn how to make an album, pick up "CrazySexyCool" and "Fanmail" and get a pen, a pad , and a 20 oz Lipton Brisk Iced Tea and take notes, you'll be there for a while. This is a great album.
