Free Music Review: Buy this album - unless you're chicken
Hit: 5 Stars

Todd can do whatever he wants, and this time he wanted to make an album with leather balls. Todd used to complain that his generation was "just waiting to die - we'll swallow anything if it will just get us high". In his last album (Liars) he complained about dishonesty in politics, and life. His past songs have inspired people to think. This time, he's still complaining, but now he wants to inspire action. What better way to get people up off their couch - write songs that will make the listeners rush the stage. These songs have more big hooks than a Long John Silver convention (the pirate, not the seafood). Do you like great waves of power chords, great precise vocals, and great ideas? No? Well, buy this album anyway and maybe you will see what you're missing.

Free Music Review: Todd Rundgren: Up For The Third Time
Hit: 5 Stars

Todd Rundgren has been through many periods in his long and storied career. As a teenager with the Nazz, he played hard pop-rock reminiscent of the Who with a touch of Cream. Since then, he's recorded pop music, experimental rock, and electronic-robotic music.

Now, having recently turned 60, Todd has put out an album that pulls together bits of Jeff Beck, Ted Nugent, Led Zeppelin, the Outlaws, the Who, Foghat, and Robin Trower, with maybe a touch of Firefall and Loggins & Messina for good measure. The songs seem to rock harder than anything he's done in the past. This could stem from his anger at countries that jail foreigners for trumped-up crimes, making this, and any of his CDs, essential purchases for both your ears AND your conscience.

Free Music Review: Great!
Hit: 5 Stars

Todd is just an amazing songwriter and this album shows he knows how to rock! I love the concept of every song having a one word title. His voice is better as he gets older I think. It is deeper and has a great tone. I really didn't know that Todd could rock like this but I must admit I wasn't a fan back in the day. He was just too mellow with songs like "Hello It's Me." For that reason I ignored his albums. Then I saw him live recently with David Johanson of the New York Dolls and he rocked the house. After that I picked up this CD and loved it! Now I am going through his releases and find that he has been a rocker for a long time. This is not the same "Hello It's Me" guy and I am so glad! He is like fine wine man.....Getting better with age!

Free Music Review: Best in YEARS!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is Todd's best release in at least 15 years. Guitar-driven, heavily hooked, this is the one his die-hard fans have been long waiting for. There is no mistaking this disc for typical "Todd" music and is like a trip home once you hear his familiar vocals but it is his masterful guitar work that steps forward here. "Strike" is as close to AC-DC as you can get and sounds like they should. "Manup" is worth the price of the disc alone. Intricate acoustics, shimmering electric fingerings shine all over this album, I highly recommend this release to everyone even remotely familiar with his music. His voice sounds as if he is in his thirties and has never, ever sounded better. Superb release, Todd. Excellent work!

Free Music Review: A wizard forever
Hit: 5 Stars

ARENA has just arrived and as always I remain impressed by the beauty of
sounds, from joints that the voice and instruments weave, like a mosaic
displayed on the roof of paradise. To me is an album also very
beautiful and hallucinated, because alien to the nature of Todd, but it
is still early, soon when my body has treated it I will write a damned
piece of paper or web it would be better!
Each sorcerer has an ambiguous nature and Todd proves the rule.
One certainty is that AFRAID is one of the most beautiful songs of Todd
ever.
The one closest to my personality.
What a great luck to be a fan of Todd Rundgren after all these years!
