Free Music Notes for ScreamFree Music Review: Tokio Hotel in English Hit: 5 Stars
Tokio Hotel is a hugely successful German band in all of Europe, and they even have fans on a global basis. They have been to many countries, and even rerecorded one of their hits in Japanese. They decided to make their debut in the UK and America by releasing a rerecording of their first album, "Schrei" in English. It is commonly known that translating songs is a very difficult task, and that most of the emotion and feel of the original song disappears. This, however, is NOT the case with TOkio Hotel's "Scream". Bill Kaulitz, their lead singer, may be singing in a foreign tongue to him, but the songs still have their original flare.
1. "Scream": 5/5. This is one of Tokio Hotel's first hits, and is one of their best songs. It is loud, commanding, and full of rebellion and teen angst. Not the most original of songs, but it certainly is powerful and can easily hook a person.
2. "Ready, Set, Go!": 5/5. Great guitars, and another powerful track, somewhat similar to "Scream". Again, very hook-able.
3. "Monsoon": 5/5. Possibly the most famous Tokio Hotel song of all time. This track is slower and softer, with beautiful lyrics and enchanting vocals.
4. "Love Is Dead": 4.5/5. A very good song, with the 'quiet, then loud' factor that "Scream" had, but more powerful. The chorus will suck you in.
5. "Don't Jump": 5/5. Another hit from TH. One of the more unique songs of the album, this track beautifully illustrates a story in which the narrator is trying to convince his friend not to commit suicide. The last line is haunting.
6. "On the Edge": 4/5. At first comes across as a lighter, danceable song, yet the lyrics talk about something more sinister. Catchy, yet the verses are sometimes somewhat lacking. The chorus makes up for it.
7. "Sacred": 5/5. An amazing song, one of the best on this album. Amazing lyrics and music, a very stand out track.
8. "Break Away": 3/5. The weakest song on this album. The opening guitar riff is very promising, yet the rest of the song fails to deliver. Bill's German accent shows a lot in this song, and makes certain lyrics awkward. Catchy, especially the guitars, but nothing special.
9. "Rescue Me": 5/5. This is the one song where the English version disappointed me. The German version was so haunting and sad, and the English version somehow toned it down a bit. But still a great song.
10. "Final Day": 4.5/5. Catchy, a good song.
11. "Forgotten Children": 5/5. A beautiful track, another unique one about abandoned children. Soothing and sad to listen to, it makes a statement.
12. "By Your Side": 5/5. Another amazing track. Very touching, reminiscent of "Sacred". A memorable song.
If you like alternative rock, and are looking for a good band to get into, or if you are a fan of Tokio Hotel's German songs. Bill Kaulitz has a memorable voice, and I guarantee this band will suck you into their world and inspire you in some way.
Free Music Review: SCREAM! I FEEL IT! Hit: 5 Stars
This album Scream by Tokio hotel is Incredible! Every song is great! I mean EVERY song, not just a few like most albums. Most of the songs really have the power of the original German versions. Bill the lead singer has very little accent, its most noticed though on "breakaway". On words like "Work" and "Plug". All and All his accent is really good though. Also some of the songs are in a different key from the original ones on their first German album. The German versions of Monsoon and Scream are quite a bit higher, but I personally like them lower like they are on this cd. I Got the American version and it also has a few extra tracks "1000 oceans" which is almost as good as the original and "Durch Den Monsun" which is the German version of "Monsoon". It also comes with a bonus DVD if you get it from Best buy, which is a great plus! Its a fantastic album and I suggest everyone buy it, because its the only album I've bought this year that Every song is great! Scream, Monsoon, and Ready, set,go are Classics!
Free Music Review: Great new band Hit: 5 Stars
I was a bit hesitant to get this, as the group members are all so young, but realized that was silly.
I love this cd! the first song is Scream, and it's a great way to start off the cd. After that, it's Ready Set Go, which is one of the two videos i've seen of theirs.
Monsoon, is actually a re recording of an older song of theirs, which is also included on this cd(in german). Mosoon was the first song i ever heard by them, and it's a great introduction!
There are plenty of songs to love on this. Live every second, is pretty straight forward! live! Sacred and Rescue me are both beautiful songs, and i'm in awe that a young guy like Bill had a hand in writing them.
Don't Jump: listen to it, that's all i have to say, it's so sad but a very good song you'll want to listen to over and over again.
It helps that the guys play their own instruments. And are good looking to boot, but Bll's voice is great, and the music is well worth a listen!
Free Music Review: Tokio Hotel - Scream album Hit: 5 Stars
For those who don't know much about this band: this is an album that includes songs from Tokio Hotel from 2005 'til this day translated from German to English. Some of the songs are harder (but still playful) rock, some are beautiful ballads and some really show how much the boys have grown in the past 3 years. And lyrics are thrust in all the songs!
Approx. 50 minutes of Tokio Hotel's English songs doesn't leave you cold! The version in amazon.com includes 15 songs which is to make sure you won't get bored of the songs after two times of listening through.
Although I already have all the songs on my computer (wonder how they got there :/ ) I don't regret bying this album! Here you can listen to the songs as a wholeness the boys and the record company have planned.
The package also includes a code to an exclusive section of the band's US sites featuring chats with the band, exclusive videos and giveaways.
Worth buying, I'd say..
Free Music Review: Tokio Hotel - German/English, it's all the same Hit: 5 Stars
I have both the English version of this cd and all of the songs in German, and I would just like to say that I am so glad that they came out with English. While I do love the German, sometimes it is nice to know what they're saying. Since Bill, Tom, and company helped to translate this cd themselves, I feel like it's still the same old Tokio Hotel, just in English. It really was worth it to buy the English, the slight changes in translation are interesting and it is obvious that they put some time into it. I would highly reccomend this cd to anyone who loves Tokio Hotel and people who also like it when a rock band doesn't say the F word every five seconds. A great CD and a great investment! I love this thing!
