Free Music Review: Disc 2 is UNBELIEVABLE!

I'm a pretty moderate Tom Petty fan, always appreciated him and occasionally really liked him, so I bought this box set. I decided to spend about a week with each disc, so as to really get into it and I just started on disc II. Disc I was plenty good, but the second disc is mind blowing. It's just undescribably good. If you're at all curious, do yourself a favor and spend the best $20 you're gonna spend in a long while on this baby. And I say all this without even hearing the other two discs. But, I'm telling you, disc II is way better than you can imagine.

I've never been moved to write a review before, but I have now been moved. I've always been a so-so fan of Tom Petty. I've got the anthology and like a lot of his hits, but out of the thousands of CD's I own I only had 2 Tom Petty's. This live compilation has made a believer of me. I'm not sure about all of the studio CD's, but based on this album I can't imagine a concert I would love to attend more. I've been listening to all kinds of music for over 50 years, and this is the best live rock and roll band I ever heard (and that includes the Stones).Free Music Review: Best of the Best

Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker's Live Anthology is a master piece. It's a must have for Petty fans, and if you are not a fan, it's an amazing introduction to one of the best rock and roll bands ever. This anthology is not a greastest hits revisited. It is a complilation of live songs from various times and concerts. TP and the Heartbreakers is a fabulous live band and this 4 cd collection captures the essence of their energy together on stage. It is a true gem. Flawless - you'll find no expensive unnecessary packaging here. You'll get 48 ass kicking songs, played brilliantly by one of the best rock 'n' roll bands to ever hit the stage. And if you need more than that, you'll get fantastic sound quality at a great price! It appears that only the music matters and I couldn't agree more. He deserves some kind of award and hopefully every other band will follow his example. Of course he really has little competition when it comes to how good the music is.Free Music Review: totally worth it!!

I haven't been must of a 'live recording' person - but this 4 disc anthology is totally worth getting. Its a large majority of some of the best Petty you've heard, and also other songs thrown in there that are quickly becoming favorites. For example: Gold Finger, Green Onions, Lost without you, Friend of the devil, Melinda - there's basically 1 or 2 'extra' songs on each disc. So even though I have just about every TP&HB song, I've really enjoyed this entire ablum.
