You dont have to get far into this album before its obvious that Mr. Petty has hit ANOTHER creative high. Tom's songwriting is sassy, savy, touching, heartfelt, and intelligent. In addition to the tunes being very catchy. The band was just inducted into the Hall of Fame but they are still making albums that would put them there again. I have been in the music businees and seen coruption beyond the wildest of any of our expectancies. I had never thought that anyone else had seen or felt it until my grandfather recommended this CD to me. I bought it, not thinking I would enjoy Tom Petty's music, but I was wrong. They never stop growing or commenting on relevant events.
The title track, "The Last DJ" is a wry commentary on the current sorry state of affairs of radio and the music industry as a whole.
They are the best rock-n-roll band America has ever produced.

For all the industry haters, this is the album for you. Tom reaches out and grabs all of the biz people by the bawlz, and twists. This album is so good, I've recommended it to EVERY one I know.
