Free Music Notes for The Last DJFree Music Review: TOM PETTY STILL IN THE LOOP! Hit: 5 Stars
DECEMBER,2002 Well Tom did it again! He rocked the Palace of Auburn Hills, in Michigan! WOW! what a nite. This cd just explodes with life and rock! From the title song "last dj" to "have love will travel"Tom shows he can rock with the best of them.I could be a little biased 'cause I have been in love with this man since I was at least 14 years old! Tom's music surpasses time, age, and music genres! I would just like to add in closing that Tom's music is TIMELESS! and as long as he continues to bring us cd's like the Last DJ he has a spot in music history!-- SO GO BUY THE LAST DJ IT ROCKS!
Free Music Review: Thank God, no Jeff Lynne Hit: 5 Stars
I must agree with so many of the reviewers that this is a superb set of songs finely crafted by real flesh and bones musicians-which can never be taken for granted these days! An earlier reviewer likened the songs here to those on Into the Great Wide Open. I believe this is a great comparison. I can only imagine how truly wonderful that album could have been had Jeff Lynne(who ruined George Harrison's final album) not gotten his hands on it. The production on the Last DJ has so much depth and power. It positively shimmers. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could hear a complete remix a la "DJ" of "Wide Open?"
Free Music Review: Best new Tom Petty Album You Can Get Hit: 5 Stars
Tom Petty's the Last DJ is a great acheivement for tom petty. It is better than echoes b/c it gives me everything i need in a solid cd. That is a reason i like incubus so much. He puts the rock song on there, the blues rock, slow melodic guitar riffs, etc etc. Every song on this album is worth listening to. each song satisfies my craving for something. I think that is what makes a good album. Buy this album, if you like tom petty he does some classic story telling rock here
Free Music Review: Hands Down, One of Petty's Best! Hit: 5 Stars
Yes, it's a very angry CD. His lyrics spit at the record excecutives, yet the music is fantastic to listen to. Petty knows the right mixture in stating a point and offering the best music in his catalog. This is his big "F**K YOU, I AM TOM PETTY, I CALL THE SHOTS" to the weak music industry.
Notable tracks are the TITLE TRACK, JOE, MONEY BECOMES KING, WHEN A KID GOES BAD
Worth your $$
Free Music Review: Not the old Tom Petty, but still good Hit: 5 Stars
This is a really good cd, but Tom Petty doesn't really sound like the Tom Petty that we know on the Greatest Hits cd and back. Hes mad at the music business like the CEOs, Britney Spears and others, he never says their name, but you know who hes talking about. Its funny, yet a serious cd. The CD-ROM is pretty cool too with the recording of some of the songs. Good job Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!
