Free Music Notes for SwordfishtrombonesFree Music Review: Tom rules! Hit: 5 Stars
Tom is like a part of your genetic makeup, you either have it or you don't, some try to suppress it like curly hair but it's always there. Anyway the symptoms are you love everything this man says or does and forgive all if ever you need to, watch down by law or listen to his interviews, I dont get to have many emotions being an office worker but the closest I came was when I found out Tom had been on tour and I missed it, worst day of my life.
Free Music Review: Waits fans are a diverse bunch Hit: 5 Stars
I guess Waits fans have to be diverse and maybe a tad strange, or, they wouldn't be Tom Waits fans. However, I look at some of these lukewarm reviews and I just scratch my head. I think this is one of Tom's greatest albums and certainly one my favorites. It has the accesable songs like "16 Shots" etc. and the truly strange, a real nice mix. Oh well, to each their own, but I think this is a nice starter album for Tom Waits novices.
Free Music Review: stunning Hit: 5 Stars
i may be a die-hard metalhead who gets his kicks out of bands like Bloodbath and Cryptopsy, but there is no way i can deny the genious of tom waits. possibly the best lyricist in the music industry, he connects with you in a way few musicians can. songs like "shore leave" and "soldiers things" leave you in a state of awe; in fact all the songs on this album do. get this, then get "raindogs" and "bone machine". you wont regret it.
Free Music Review: Great stuff Hit: 5 Stars
This is the album that really marked Tom Waits' transformation from boozy bar crooner to inspired composer of twisted arrangements. The subject matter of his songs is still losers and dreamers. He has staked out a distinctive musical and lyrical territory that has become unmistakeably his. Standouts tracks here include "Soldier's Things," "Gin Soaked Boy," and "Town With No Cheer."
Free Music Review: Core/Staple Tom Waits Hit: 5 Stars
Swordfishtrombones is simply outstanding, incredibly entertaining and dynamic. If you like Tom Waits music this should be part of your collection. If you are new to Tom Waits, Swordfishtrombones and Rain Dogs should be the fist two of his albums that you buy. 16 shells, In the neighborhood, and Frank's wild years are my favorite songs on the album.
