Being a huge fan of the avant-garde genre, I was personally expecting more to this album coming from Patton. That is not to say the album isn't fullfilling, just not to Patton's typical approach of music. Then again, being un-typical is what he's known for. If that makes sense. This album is more put together and accesable to most. Think of Mr. Bungle's "California" album with a darker atmospher, with a slight more edgier sound. The last song, and personally my favorite, on this album is one of the more experimental songs. Compared to others such as "Rape This Day" which is more of a straight forward rock structure. Overall, this album is worth purchasing if you are a fan of Experimental, creative music - but their first album is the one worth checking out if you are more drawn to Patton's strange side.
