I am surprised this album is not more well known. You never hear of it when talking in prog circles, and I only got hip to it because I own a 1970s book called Album Cover Album and saw this cover that looked like Vertigo Keef. But for all I knew this could have been a Donny Osmond underground project.
Of course it is not: but it is great jazz rock that reminds me at times of a more complex Traffic. There is some straight jazz here, nice keyboards that never get to gaudy, and some jams that are extended yet hit the target.
What works well about this album is the ease. When Ton Ton blend the various schools they do here, it always feels natural--never edited together. Between proto-prog, jazz rock and out and out prog, this music falls in all and none, making it artful but art that goes down smooth and tasty.
