Free Music Notes for Duets: An American ClassicFree Music Review: Best of Tony Bennett & friends Hit: 5 Stars
Such a joy to listen to over and over again. His son and manager surely knows how to choose voices that blend and enhance his father's own voice, style and sharing thereof. Interviews with the vocalists who join Mr. Bennett on this CD express their admiration and joy in singing with and learning from him.
Can't quite express what a thrill it is to hear him teaching, challenging, and learning from these other artists who obviously are in such awe of the great Tony.
Free Music Review: One more "Tony" Hit: 5 Stars
After watching a TV production consisting of songs from this album I knew I had to have it even though I had thought I was 'maxed out' on owning Tony albums. He has been a favorite since the 50s and at first the idea of his singing duets was not appealing, but this one has a varied mix of performers showcasing the wide range of Mr. Bennett's talent. It helped, also, that pictures from the TV show come to mind on the songs that had been featured on it.
Free Music Review: What you expect and more Hit: 5 Stars
This is the new standard in 'Duets' albums, and it will be hard to top. Mr. Bennett never tries to compete with, to upstage his partner ... each song allows for a true duet of complimentary voices. His effortless style is supported by great talents who seem to know better than to try and steal the show from a 'legend'. The song selection is brilliant, and all exploit Mr. Bennett's voice and style.
A joy to listen to over and over again.
Free Music Review: Tony Still Singing Hit: 5 Stars
Tony Bennett is better now than he ever was. His voice is clear and he
still can hit those notes. Most of all his personality shines through every song that he sings and his delivery is great. The only one, very slight , objection I have is that he has no new material. However, most of the singers of that era keep repeating what has made them famous and so I really can't fault that. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Free Music Review: From Generation to Generation Hit: 5 Stars
Anthony Dominick Benedetto (or as we know him, Tony Bennett) is both a legend and a contemporary master of his chosen art. Alone or paired with other talents, many two or three decades his junior, he shines - and shows them how to shine as well. If, indeed, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," I can always reclaim it through the crystal clear magic of Tony Bennett's ageless sound.
Long may he continue!
