Free Music Review: A mixed bag instead of an all-out dancing assault

Basically, if you took the best tracks from both discs here and made one disc, you'd have a delicious peak hour vocal anthem set. However, the amazing remix talents of Moran are not the only thing he exploits here, he also adds many of his own tracks, many of which are repetitive, uninteresting tribal tracks. Even so, there are some great divas here, including Deborah Cox, Jeanie Tracy, Martha Wash, and Lisa Lisa, and many of these tracks are fairly long versions and aren't available commercially anywhere else. Not to mention, disc 2 blows disc 1 away! Track times:

2. put your hands up (7:57) (tribalesque track with an odd assortment of flutes, operatic, haunting male vocals and chants)
3. walk away...kristine W (5:52) (as usual, Kristine W turns it out, with the help of Tony Moran)
4. la muzika (5:51) (pretty much filler. Tribal circuit tracks with limited vocals)
5. You Get me Down (7:19) (The female vocals have better attitude than the mix)
6. surrender me...Danielle bollinger (6:09) (not Bollinger's best single, just an okay vocal track)
7 oh yeah (5:48) (hard, repetitive tribal track with some vocal chants samples)
8. something about you (5:37) (a sort of mellow, trancy track with a small amount of female vocals)
9. brokeback revisited (7:17) (well, yet another mix of this beautiful theme song)
10. everybody dance...deborah cox (7:09) (one of the main reasons to get this compilation. This rare track never got an official single release. Fierce Deborah vocals are joined by the chorus from the Chic classic of the same name)
11. I got a feeling (ralphi rosario mix)...Vicki Shepard vs Jeanie Tracy (5:40) (another slammin' vocal track by club divas. This disc sure takes a long time to get the party started)
12. find a better placehousefinderz (6:07) (Another track that sort of brings down the energy, with limited female vocals)
13. universo alegria...nicki richards (6:39) (yet another `alegria' track by Moran. I think this concept has run out of steam)
CD2
1. jungle sound...tracy young (5:41) (non-vocal Tracy Young tracks gets the party pounding)
2. connected...Sharon Bryant (6:51) (disc 2 is sounding much better than disc 1, with this next track, a vocal anthem loaded with attitude)
3. another night in heaven...Martin Frye (7:22) (not many vocals, slows down the groove a bit)
4. keep your body workin...Martha wash (6:13) (not surprising to have Martha Wash on a dance track with such a catchy and slightly retro vibe)
5. freedom...nikki Richards (7:13) (very uplifting track with some nice vocals)
6. Rock into your Soul...lisa lisa (7:37) (great diva track. I assume this is THE lisa lisa of the 80s, but it doesn't totally sound like her)
7. body moves...zhana saunders (6:31)(I can see where this track gets its name. It's mostly non-vocal, but it is indeed a peak hour track that will get your body moving)
8. show you...breathwaite with Deborah Cox (8:36) (MORE vocals by Deborah Cox??? What a treat!!!!)
9. give it to me harder...tony moran and deep influence (5:17) (again, the title says it all, and the track delivers. Awesome.)
10. old school...moody (5:15) (Title is befitting, because this one will remind you of mid-90s junior Vasquez. Has vocals, but they are sort of washed down in the mix. Another great track.)
11. opus...black magic woman (8:44) (kind of noisy non-vocal track, but a good way to finish off the CD because it actually has some great energy)
