Free Music Review: We journey back to the early days of Tool
Hit: 5 Stars

I admit- this is a kick ass debut metal album from Tool. They started off perfectly and matured mentally and musically over the years dramatically. Maynard menacingly drives out brutal forces of power with his divingly compelling vocal chords, as does the rest of the band backing him up with their eardrum-crushing guitar riffs at booming speed. Maynard is( of course, DUH!)the frontman, Adam Jones on lead guitar, Paul D' Amour on bass and Danny Carey on drums. I am naming the guys if you are new to this band, but I'm sure most or all of the reviewers on this Tool page own more than just ONE of their CD's. Take my word for it, this one's a MUST HAVE! Pick it up ASAP and see for yourself.

Free Music Review: "Pilot"
Hit: 5 Stars

Back in the early months of 1992, alternative rock music started to break out and explode. Then, four lost boys from LA (Tool) became a big hit with their first album Opiate and fans answered to their music and then became satisfied with Tool's amazing creativity in their music. Most songs in this album reach over the four minute mark that will give them the idea to make something longer and very original (In their future releases). Still, after the years passing by, Opiate has always been a difinative album for everyone to listen to. Tool's lead singer, Maynard James Keenan, and Adam Jone's amazing guitar riffs and solos, Tool is bound to come a classic in alternative rock.

Free Music Review: gets a five for one song in my mind
Hit: 5 Stars

Hush and Part of Me are great songs on this record. In fact all of the tracks are. But the final track (not the hidden one) Opiate makes the album completely worth your dollar. It has a soft edge to it at first then it slams your head into the holy water and drowns you.

not so much satanic, it does what Tool says "think for yourself, question authority" and thats it.

listen to Opiate with an open mind. its raw and much heavier than what the new tool fans are used to. Nothing like Lateralus and really nothing like Aenima. But this is when the band started so its expected. check it out if you want to see a band progress in a unique way.

recommended.

Free Music Review: One of the very few true 5 star CDs
Hit: 5 Stars

Every song is great = 5 stars. No fillers, no lacking songs, and even a bit of humor in the live tracks. So far, the only CDs that compare are the other Tool CDs (though slightly faulted), Facelift, Dirt, and Alice in Chains self titled. Oh and of course, any Led Zeppelin CD.

At first I thought, "Why only six tracks (seven songs)?" After listening to it, and later, with the release of the other Tool CDs, the reason became clear. These seven songs are much harder than any other Tool song. Every Tool CD has a unique sound, and adding any other song to this CD would just sound off. But then again they could have just gotten greedy. Who's to say.

Free Music Review: The Reverand Speaks
Hit: 5 Stars

Reverand Maynard James Keenan. Is he a prophet speaking or just a person who is sick of mans interputation of religion. I'm guessing the later and I must agree with him. Its an unbelievable world we live in with so many things that seem so right and so many people trying to convince you that their interputation is the way to achive divine happiness. This album is a display that Tool will not follow anyone else's beliefs and have created their own. For anyone with doubts to listen and enjoy. Tool is the greatest band in the last 30 years, since the release of Pink Floyd, and everyone will realize this when the time is ready for them to take the main stage.
