Free Music Notes for OpiateFree Music Review: 'Torny' You Crack Me Up Mate. Hit: 5 Stars
What a joker you are, extremely funny, and you've obviously spent a lot of time processing your thoughts and opinions. IT IS absolutely true that all Tool fans are 'fat' and 'ugly' people who feel left out, and your once again SPOT ON when you say that Tool fans feel less superior than good looking people. Wow, I'll tell you what, I've read thousands of reviews, but I don't think any mount to your extensive logic and brilliant thinking. Great job.
Just incase - 'Torny' - you are actually a complete f*ck, that was sarcasm, intelligence of the highest form. Stuck up c*nt. Sorry about the language, but I've never been as stupified.
Free Music Review: A decent introduction. Hit: 5 Stars
I look at this entry in TOOL's arsenal as an introduction to better prepare you for the audio onslaught of 1993's Undertow. This disc leaves you wanting more, you can feel these guys stretching their musical tenticles but at the same time feel a little teased. Rocks more than anything out there but lacks the melody, maturity, and angst the rest of their entries are saturated with. Works great if you need a quick fix of Tool because of its length; its short and kicks. Early disc pressings have the hidden track which, after a listen, shows that the band also has a clever sense of humor. A good origin for the best band working today.
Free Music Review: are you thinking?? Hit: 5 Stars
Yeah its edgy, angry, violent.. its young Tool, before they refined themselves, before some of the spiritual growth and experience.. Its an awsome peek into the beginning of one of the best bands out there, MJK's voice has matured, he has learned with time how to be more poiniant with just a whisper, but Opiate packs all the angst and frustration that are stepping stones to openminded adulthood. Its like being able to go back and listen to the frustrated overworked underpayed version of yourself at 23 ranting about the sheep surrounding you. I loved this cd when it came out.. It was relatable.. I feel like I've grown with them.. 46+2
Free Music Review: think for your self! Hit: 5 Stars
this cd has so much depth you could spend hours listening to the songs and trying to figure out what they mean. the cd is made up of 6 great songs and one hidden one, in my oppinon opiate has got to be the best song on it. its number 6 and uses Marx's saying religon is the opiate of the people. its all bout being your own person not fallowing someone your something just cause every one else is. and how you should question everything so you can make up your own mind. this philosophy is present on all of tools albums. if your in to music with meaning this is it for you but dont take my word for it. make up your own mind about it
Free Music Review: Beginning of a great band Hit: 5 Stars
Like all of TooL's cds, this one is absolutly amazing! It is complete with a few live songs, and some great studio songs. Maynard has one of the best voices in the music industry, and it is nice to see a band with a staying power as great as TooL's. They have been around since the 80's and all of their cds/songs are amazing. This one is no exception. Opiate is definately a cd worth purchasing, even if you have never heard of TooL and want to get into their music. The song "opiate" is one of the greatest songs that they have ever wrote, and puts a good name to this cd. This cd is a must for all TooL fans.
