Free Music Review: I guess I'm lucky!
Hit: 5 Stars

I got this set as a birthday present when it came out. Thought about selling it on here because I'm broke. But I think I will keep it. I love Tool and I love this box set! It's worth the money if you are a die hard fan!

Free Music Review: It's not LAME
Hit: 4 Stars

The final song on this CD is not titled LAME it is titled L.A.M.C. That is a C on the end.

Free Music Review: $100 for this pile of garbage? Eat it!
Hit: 1 Stars

Tool is an awesome band and this is a great package, but $100? No Way in hell. These outrageous prices are the reason people download illegally. I will never pay this price. NEVER.

Free Music Review: Amazing! A must have!
Hit: 5 Stars

This is a must have for any Tool fan. Anyone who really appreciates Tool should have this set. The live tracks on the CD are just amazing and the music videos on the DVD are something that everyone should see.

Free Music Review: Tool live
Hit: 5 Stars

There are millions of Tool bootlegs of their lives shows available to download, or purhcase from your underground record store for about #30 a piece, all with horrible quality. I actually heard one bootleg where Maynard was sick and couldn't really sing at all.
"Salival" is i guess their "official" live release, that isn't all live tracks, but a few outtakes and studio tracks.
Basically, this is a live album done the way Tool does things, their own. One can never expect anything to be the way THEY want it to be with a Tool release, they make music and art for themselves, by themselves.
Nevertheless, the songs found on this CD are very good. The "Third Eye" rendition is done well. You can really tell that the band does NOT need all the studio tricks, I think that "Third Eye" sounds really good live, and not boring like many people are stating. The live version of "Push-it" is done really well with a whole new conception of the song, adding Tabla solos and more emotion and melody in the vocals and guitar. "Harry manback" makes a second appearance, there are some live covers(which very from the satisfactory Peach song, to the amazing cover of Led Zepplins "No Quarter"). "Merkaba" is a very experimental track that makes a nice addition to your Tool collection, as does the very last song "Maynard's Dick", a funny satire on the whole "Rock God" thing, a kind of parody song of the "Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll" mentality.
The videos are decent, but they are not why I purchased this box set.
I hear a lot of complaints as to why there are no "making-of" or "behind the scenes" stuff included, but in my experience, Tool has never been that kind of band. They have never preferred the spotlight or being idolized by their fans whom Maynard has often referred to as "sheep". Fans expecting some kind of all out "confession" to the inner workings of Tool will be very disappointed.
This is a great box set to own though
