This is a high quality soundtrack to say the least. If you're a fan of 80s music, by all means buy this album. You know a great album when every single song is good. All of the tracks are good and none need to be skipped. I always keep this CD in reach when driving, it's probably one of my top three favorite albums. So if you like 80s music, or like to get nostalgic about the 80s and/or Top Gun, this is the CD for you.Free Music Review: Ah, those carefree days....

Playing this cd brings back alot of memories and I have added it to my driving repetoir. The extra tracks really round out the cd really well and are a bonus for those that bought the first cd and hungrily wanted more. Damn, I should've joined the Air Force. If you liked the movie you will love this soundtrack!!!These are all clasic chart topping hits and this SACD is expanded with 5 more songs not present on the cd. These songs are Rock , Soft Rock , Oldies and other great classics.
The sound is phenomenal!!! I don't want to ramble, but the direct stream digital process (especially DSD original recordings) sounds better than LP's period and I know how good lp's can sound and obliterates CD in terms of clearness, air , ambience and presence. Some of the older remastered songs are from the late 50's and early 60's and there is nothing you can do about the low level tape hiss but if you listen closely it actually SOUNDS exactly like REAL TAPE HISS! and if you know anything about recording, it's unmistakable! This resolution and dynamic range is not possible on cd or LP (the lp adds it's own noise masking and not being able to resolve the acual hiss from old tape). Whoever can't hear that SACD SOUNDS better than cd and even DVD-A is either deaf, has a bad system or a hidden agenda (dvd-a camp, analog diehards) BUY this disc for the MUSIC!! it's great!!!

Great CD! Lot's of spunky `80's songs, from a great movie. Great for cruising in a convertible with the top down, or bopping around the house on the weekend.We got the CD for my daughter, Rebecca, who is severely handicapped (cerebral palsy). She's 6 and has had a crush on Tom Cruise for over a year now! She watches the video during her hyperbaric oxygen therapies and still gets excited about Tom, as well as the action scenes. (Read Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy - Dr.'s Neubauer and Walker).
And, she bops around in the car with the CD on the way home from therapies.

This album (when it was originally released) was the first cd/tape I ever bought. By far one of the best soundtracks to a movie. I highly recomend it to anybody that likes the 80's and the spirit that went with it in the music.
