Free Music Review: "Poison me against the moon..." Hit: 5 StarsLittle Earthquakes is Tori Amos's masterpiece. This album is her magnificent debut just a complexed and engaging record. Standout tracks include:Me and a gun (about Tori's rape), Winter (about her father) Mother (self-explanatory!) Silent all these years (about being boxed in as a person), and Tear in your hand (relationship problems). Her lyrics are the best i have ever read. God i wish i could write like that! "Yes, i wore a slinky red thing, does that mean i should spread?" A song writer is supposed to shock you, that's what makes them a fantastic and gifted writer. Her voice sounds like and angel, love her piano-playing (is there anything this girl cannot do?)I highly recommend this gem of an album. The title-track is wonderful as well:"Good year for hunters and Christmas parties..." Get this album now, well what are you waiting for?
Free Music Review: Amazing! Hit: 5 StarsTori Amos is my Favorite female artist. I bought this album the day it hit the shelves and that was a long time ago. I still find myself playing it over and over. It's her best album and all of the songs are incredible. She plays the piano with such passion and intensity. "Me and a Gun" is heavy and emotional, but the story behind the song makes listening to it all the more amazing. My husband is not a fan, but he even loves "China" and "Winter" A must own for every album collection.
Free Music Review: Tori's classic Hit: 4 StarsTori has succeeded in creating her own very small vineyard with very luscious fruit. If one is in the mood to rant (lyrically) against all that is frightening, this is the place to go. I visit frequently.
Free Music Review: Excellent! Hit: 5 StarsOkay, so i am 14 and in to REALLY different music. I really adored Alanis Morissette and thought no one could come close, but when i heard "Little Earthquakes" i knew there was someone who could beat Alanis lyrically and vocally. I have yet to hear her other albums, but i have just heard From the Choirgirl Hotel, which is also excellent! Here is how i rate the songs:
Crucify: Very good, love this song, it's so true though
Girl: Extremly well done, love piano and just the lyrics are stunning
Silent all these Years: Good but not great, not my favorite song, i find it a tad boring
Precious Things: Excellent! One of her best, love the beginning!
Winter: Exquisite! The best song on the album, paints such a vivid picture in my head
Happy Phantom: Good, odd at times, don't understand lyrics at all
China: Lovely, very sweet ballad, a bit slow for me though
Leather: One of the best songs! Catchy tune
Mother: This is closely tied with Winter, it is just so beautiful
Tear in your hand: Good, like chorus alot
Me and a Gun: Very sad song, but i really like this song
Little Earthquakes: Very nice, not my favorite though, it is kind of haunting in a way
