After the wonderful "Scarlet's Walk" CD, I was believing that Tori Amos was solidly back to making compelling records more along the lines of her stellar "Under The Pink" and "Little Earthquakes" albums. But I was wrong. While "The Beekeeper" does include several good songs, the overall CD is blandly arranged and doesn't really grab the listener is any way. It just feels like Tori has lost it and become a hacky parody of herself. If I didn't have every CD Tori has ever released, I would probably chuck this one. But I will keep it just so my collection is complete. Am I a devoted fan or what?
Thank goodness Kate Bush has a new CD coming out this year. Modern music needs saving!
