Free Music Review: She's makin' honey!
Hit: 5 Stars

Firstly, 19 tracks each a journey in itself. Each track really stands alone on this record, instead of the much more monocord Scarlet's Walk which kind of bleeds into itself all the way through. Looking at the whole picture, it's beautiful. There are so many dynamics at play here that it's impossible not to find something new everytime you look. There are those Tori Amos fans that will be disappointed (as they usually always are) because it's not another "Little Earthquakes" or whatever their favourite record was. One of the things I've come to love about Amos is her ability to evolve and change. She's NOT stuck in one phase of herself musically. There are so many artists out there whose albums sound the same one after another. How boring? The melodies are strong and so are the other instruments coming in. No, this is not a "girl and her piano" album, it's a "mother having experienced a LOT of life and taking a piece of each of those experiences into herself and reflecting it musically" album. Yeah, that strong angst, tension and burning lust that we felt in Pele and Choirgirl have changed. Motherhood and Marriage do that to people. It's still a flame, but instead of a raging, devouring inferno, it's a hearth fire now. I suppose if you've not yet experienced that sort of fire in your own life it maybe hard to relate to. It's a beautiful album for those of us who are able to let Tori grow up.

Free Music Review: The Journey Continues
Hit: 5 Stars

Ok, I'm a fan of Tori's. I have been since 1996 when Boys for Pele came out and I simply fell in love with her. Since that time, I delved deeply into Tori's first two albums, Little Earthquakes and Under The Pink and fell for both of them as well. Then much later my journey with Tori continued with Songs From The Choirgirl Hotel and not to be redundant here, but I loved it as well and the same goes for my journey in Tori's spaceship on To Venus and Back. About two years ago I wondered if the journey had ended but found out differently when an album called Scarlet's Walk came out. NOW...just today I have bought Tori's latest work The Beekeeper. I have officially given it a first listen and there definitely some good songs here just like there are on all her other works. My favorites as of this moment are:

Parasol
The Power of Orange Knickers
Ribbons Undone
Hoochie Woman
Goodbye Pisces
Toast

Hey! It's just a first listening, if there is one thing I have learned from listening to Tori, it's that her music grows on me. I may not be in the same place as she is on certain songs; I may have to catch up or wait for her music to catch up with me, but eventually everything evens out. I think I have finally realized that as long as she is around creating, I will always be with her on her journeys. I still love her.

Free Music Review: My favorite Tori album to date!
Hit: 5 Stars

After the first listen, I wondered if I would even like The Beekeeper (probably has something to do with my high expectations of Tori's music), but suddenly, that all changed. Just like Tori's lyrics and voice can sometimes be an acquired taste, this cd has grabbed me and will not let go. Tori Amos is my favorite artist, and there will never be anyone like her, never. Personally, my favorite Tori cd had been Boys For Pele ... Ever since From The Choirgirl Hotel, I haven't fully connected with any of the albums she has released, not even Scarlet's Walk. Though these albums are far better than any mainstream album, they just didn't seem to connect with me as the first four did. The Beekeeper has rekindled my Tori flame. The music and lyrics are breathtaking. Truly hypnotic, this cd is a masterpiece. You must order the limited edition with the DVD in order to truly understand what this cd is about - you will be amazed and enchanted ... It delves into life, death, tragedy, and war. But just like the beekeepers bring calmness to their environments, Tori illustrates peace and serenity in a time of chaos and war. Listening to this cd is like reading an addictive novel in which you learn so much about yourself, life, and society. The songs stick with you as if they are a part of you. The Beekeeper truly is a gift that you will forever cherish.

Free Music Review: All of you people need to get over yourself!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Even though I am a fairly new Tori fan,I am familiar with her music. I have all of her full length albums except for Strange Little Girls. I even have several live albums and a few singles. They are all different, but still great in their own ways. The latest one included. Sure, she sounds a little more mellow now, but she is getting older and she changes over time. We all grow over time. Its called life. All of you so called fans are looking for another Little Earthquakes everytime she puts out a new album. That is just not realistic. You all think that she is selling out, and not being true to herself, but would she really be true to herself if she reproduced the same album over and over again just to please the fans out there who want it? If you actually listen to the new album, and read the lyrics, you will see that she is still Tori. She is still strange in her own way. Writing lyrics that sometimes make no sense at all, but still touch you in some way, and make you think. She is incredibly talented and has an amazing voice, and that is what makes her worth listening to. I really think this is a great album and well worth it. Oh, and just because she uses the word knickers, does not mean that she is trying to be someone she's not, or be too European. It is just a word that she happens to use in a song.

Free Music Review: This Little Pill In My Hand
Hit: 5 Stars

Can somebody tell me now, how they don't see that this is the same Tori Amos who wrote the great songs of Little Earthquakes, Under The Pink and Boys for Pele? How can you hear a line like, "Those girls that smile kindly then rip your life to pieces" and not hear that Tori still has that same edge that she has always had. She's the same Tori in The Beekeeper that she has always been.

This album is loaded with some great songs, obviously "The Power of Orange Knickers" is one of my favorites, yeah it's an odd title for a song but then again "Space Dog" and "Caught a Lite Sneeze" aren't exactly "normal" song titles. Some of my other favorites on this one are:

Parasol
Sweet The Sting
Ribbons Undone
Goodbye Pisces
Marys of the Sea
Toast

Also I see some reviews noted her as being too mellow on The Beekeeper. Tori has never been much other than mellow, the only album that stands out to me in which she wasn't mellow would be To Venus and Back and even there she had her edgy and somber moments. I don't see any of The Beekeeper as being a sell out either because...again it's Tori and if it's one thing I know she isn't, and that's a sell out. She never has been and never will be. I love The Beekeeper and I'll give it FIVE stars if I want.
