Tack-tack-tacky. Haven't we had enough of the bombastic, sausage-machine style of worship music? This music is melodramatic at best, cloying at worst. Sure, there's room for it in any worship repertoire, but it's not that brillant. Hillsong is slowly but surely losing ground to worship sources like Vineyard and Parachute Band - and they only have themselves to blame. This latest offering is more-of-the-same. I for one am sick of the regurgitated sounds: the early albums from Hillsong were groundbreaking and vibrant. What can I say about the Hills Christian life centre? To me, Darlene Zschech is the Barbra Streisand of praise/worship. She is also an extremely gifted writer, for on this album she unleashed her greatest piece of all(even topping 93's "Shout to the Lord), which is the majestic "The Potter's Hand". Never before have I felt the Spirit's presence and power in worship as I have when worshiping with that song. Other incredibly anointed songs are "Touching Heaven, Changing Earth", "Holy Spirit Rain Down", "You Are Holy", "My Greatest Love is You", "You Gave Me Love", "Yes and Amen" and another personal favourite, "Jesus You Gave It all".
