Free Music Notes for Tournament Poker: No Limit Texas Hold'emFree Music Review: Good for learning, advanced players may need to look elsewhere Hit: 4 Stars
I've read a lot of the reviews and I agree there are definite drawbacks with the AI. The interface and the graphics are very good. Nice pot-odds and percentages displayed at the bottom of the screen. However, there seems no way the computer AI will beat a tight-aggressive player (especially if you slow-play). Very questionnable calls and lay downs. The AI actually laid down Big Slick against a single-bet re-raise. I won the game's 2003 WSOP tournament the first time I tried it (on the highest difficulty level). I've won a few tournements before, but there is no way I would ever have won any WSOP. Great game for leaning, but I wouldn't use it to sharpen advanced skills.
Free Music Review: For $20 it's a good deal but some AI flaws Hit: 4 Stars
Solid game for $20. I play with opponents at the hardest level and beat the 10 person $1000 tournement 30-40% of the time. Opponents bluff, semibluff, bully, and check-raise. I don't see the computer slow play very often. I have seen players make bad plays (folding 3 aces on the turn with no good draw opportunities on the board) but usually that doesn't happen. However, the AI for heads-up play needs to be improved. I never lose in heads up play. Even when only three opponents remain, if I have a reasonable pile of chips I almost always win. It's too easy to steal blinds and bully the opponents, then slow play a big hand. Hey Eagle Games - fix this!
Free Music Review: worth the $ Hit: 4 Stars
Eventually you get the feel for the computer, I'd say there are 3 different personality types, but good for 20-30 hours of enjoyment until then. I didn't feel it was unfair, I got just as many lucky river cards as the puter. My only gripe is sometimes when I get a big card on the river the other players suddenly become less aggressive. Useful for getting a feel for percentages & what starting hands to stick with. Great, simple interface & no annoying voices or music. No substitute for the real thing, but novices will be entertained.
Free Music Review: Helps a lot for beginners but AI makes big mistakes too.. Hit: 4 Stars
Overall, it isnt a bad game. The AI opponents do often call allins with nothing. Also odd is how occasionally a whole table will call ur allin's during a tourney!
The odds regarding starting hands-ie Ak beats A6 normally, is fairly good. If you want to learn holdem (only NL in this game) this really helps but it wont help good players much.
It's surely worth 20 bucks simply b/c of the fun factor.
Free Music Review: Casino Ready? Hit: 4 Stars
It helped me "get a handle" on the game. Thought it was very well laid out and well-written.
