A departure from his usual sound but keeping it pure Country. From the upbeat and fun "Hot Mama", the incredibly sensuous "Then Came The Night", and the broken-hearted "Then I Wake Up", you feel the emotion pouring through with each note Trace sings. There is something for everyone on this album. Even a sexy dance tune, "One Of Those Nights". "Rough & Ready" ends the the set with tongue in cheek and a whole lotta attitude. An incredibly enjoyable experience, certainly one of, if not the best of Trace's efforts thus far.This will be the one to catapult Trace into Super-Stardom...and it will be well-deserved.

Trace Adkins new album 'Comin on Strong' is his best work yet! I can feel the passion in his voice when he sings "Missing You." I know he used to work on oil rigs and it reminds me that he was a hard workin' man before he was a country music hunk. I have to admit that "Hot Mama" is my favorite. I feel like he is singing just to me. (what an idea!) The last song on the album, but most certainly not the least is the song "Rough and Ready!" This is most certainly the Redneck of all redneck songs and Trace's baritone voice makes it rock. He's hot and he's 'Comin' on Strong.'Free Music Review: Hot Papa Strikes A Chord With This Hot Mama

Comin' On Strong is a succinct title for this CD. Hot Mama captures your attention first, by the title; second, by the music itself; and third, by the lyrics. (It then stimulates your appetite, if not your curiosity, to view the video.) The richness of Adkins' baritone voice has increased and matured with each life experience; each new song/CD. There's a passion that transpires the music and the lyrics; you can see yourself in the situation: lusting, Rough and Ready for loving, and still leaves you wanting more. There's no doubt that Trace is definitely Comin' On Strong for the year 2004! When I heard his first release HOT MAMA, I knew we were all in for treat with this cd. His deep baritone is so rich and clear. Every song is sung with such deep conviction and emotion, from HOT MAMA, UNTAMED and the light hearted, fast paced ROUGH AND READY. And we get a special treat with THEN CAME THE NIGHT, near the end of the song Trace uses his unique speaking voice to recite a few lyrics. If you're a country music fan that enjoys the lyrics as well as the instrumental, you'll truly enjoy COMIN' ON STRONG.
