I ordered this item and received a copy which had annoying static sounds and other bad recording problems. I returned it and asked that a proper disk be sent. The replacement sent had the same problems. There may be a batch of bad disks. I gave up with the second try and asked for a refund.Free Music Review: Perfect For Driving

I had only known the first track, Fast Car, when I bought it; but after hearing the entire album I couldn't help but recommend it to anyone I could find. There isn't one song I didn't love.
The well known and great song Fast Car is followed by a couple of slow, soulful songs that capture Chapman's true emotions. Then my favorites: I'm Ready, Crossroads, and Bang, Bang, Bang capture Chapman's ability to get your head bobbing, but keep the true essence of folk music alive.
After that, there is a series of great songs, ending with All You Have Is Your Soul, a great end to a great CD. It leaves you with butterflies in your stomach, wanting more. Don't Hesitate... Get It. You won't regret it.

I knew Fast Car from years ago, but never really heard much else from Tracy until I listened to a friends CD. I loved what I heard. Not knowing which one of her CD's to buy, I figured this Collection would be the best start. And I am not disappointed at all. This is perfection. Her words are so insightful and music so together. This is just perfect for anyone who isn't all that familiar with her work as well as those who have all her CD's. Free Music Review: perfection

for those whose uderstand the art of lyrical poetry in a song;
for those who value the depth that a song carries without evoking any controvesy in general constantly being confronted in the human society;
this really is wasting time for anyone, but what i can truly and safely say about this album is that it a fantasical collection of some of the best music it has ever been my priviledge to enjoy.
however, regardless of its uniqueness and modesty in which the artist expresses in most (if not all) her songs, i do find some of her songs rather depressing.
Nevertheless, the songs in this album i have enjoyed from a young age, and up to the time i i'd come to learn about Chapman i had no idea that masterpieces such as Crossroads, Fast Car and Talkin' About A Revolution where the works of the same artist.
Since i have bought this album, i have played it again and again
and the discovery of all these great songs in one collection has almost been like a dream come true.
if anyone happened to ask me about this album, I can rightfully say in my own words that the Tracy Chapman Collection is a true definition of a perfection.
Free Music Review: Some of Tracy's GREATEST, but not the BEST

This is a "greatest hits" album that makes you want to buy all of her individual albums. Tracy Chapman is a thrilling artist, a pure singer with a strong voice and a true voice. She is so talented and deserves a lot more accolades than she has received. It would make a great gift for yourself or someone on your list. This is a great CD to get you introduced to some of her older songs if you are a newer fan. I would have included "For My Lover", maybe it will be in a Tracy Chapman box set someday.
