Free Music Notes for Tracy ChapmanFree Music Review: A JEM Hit: 5 StarsHow can i forget hearing Tracy Chapman in class during high school with my walkman. Her voice is really a trade mark voice. I bet you wont be able to hear a voice like hers. Its the same case as Tanita Tikaram. I have all Chapmans cds BUT this one is my favorite.
Free Music Review: Perfect Hit: 5 StarsTracy Chapman is a true artist. Her debut album possesses the quality and solidity that was lacking in many singer-songwriters of her day, and her songs are completely original and introspective for an artist of her years (at her record's time of release): "Fast Car," the standout single here, is a lyrically touching take on generational poverty set to beautiful acoustic music. Her devotion to political activism is easily apparent on songs like "Talkin' Bout a Revolution," "Across The Lines" and "Behind The Wall." Surprisingly consistent and brilliantly outspoken, Tracy Chapman is an album truly deserving of all of its achievements.
Free Music Review: Classy Hit: 5 StarsTracy Chapman's self-titled debut is classy and shows she is a strong singer and songwriter. The songs like 'Across the Lines' 'Baby Can I Hold You' 'She's Got Her Ticket' evoke strong emotions. Songs like 'Behind the Wall' 'Mountains O' Things' 'Why' are as relevenant today as when she recorded them.
Free Music Review: Tracy Chapman is a superstar to me Hit: 5 StarsThis is one of the very best CD's I have ever listened to. Tracy Chapman's voice is so beautiful, and soulful. I purchased this CD about ten years ago and still listen to if often because all of the tracks on it are timeless, and they all sound so perfectly together.
Of course my favorite track is Tracy's biggest hit, "Fast Car." Her voice is so clear and beauteous and sad on this track. I also enjoy all the other songs on the CD, especially "For My Love" and "Baby Can I Hold You."
It is hard to believe that Tracy did not break into musical superstardom like today's halfwit wannabe singing stars of the reality TV generation. Tracy Chapman is a musical genius and a superstar to me though.
Free Music Review: Storyteller and musician Hit: 5 StarsIt's a treat to sit back and to listen to her music. Tracy Chapman sings a story of life in each track. It is about life - the ups and downs, and presented in a musical form that's both earthy and pleasant to hear.
