Free Music Notes for Tracy ChapmanFree Music Review: One of my favorite albums of all time Hit: 5 StarsThis album came out a few years after I was born, and I intitially got into Tracy Chapman because this is one of my father's favorite albums(I'm probably not the typical Tracy Chapman Fan). This album is exceptionally beautiful, and made all that more amazing by the fact that it was her debut effort. This album is definitely a classic, Tracy writes the kind of songs that remind you what really good music is all about. Her Lyrics are filled with great messages that really allow you to get to know her, it's impossible to listen to the tracks on this album and not feel something. I've found that this is definitely the kind of album that people of all ages and with all kinds of tastes can appreciate. I love every song but some of my favorites are:
1. Fast Car
2. Talkin' bout a Revolution
3. If Not Now
4. She's Got Her Ticket
5. Baby Can I Hold You
6. Across The Lines
7. Behind The Wall(this song is really striking and speaks to the Tracy's unique talent)

Free Music Review: From Someone who is not a Chapman fan Hit: 4 StarsI bough this album for my girlfriend as she really like Tracy Chapman - I've just always been indifferent I guess. However, after several car trips I have heard this album a few times and it isn't half bad. "Fast Car" is the best song on the album and one you'll want to listen to several times. Not a bad album at all.
Free Music Review: a fan Hit: 4 StarsI bought this cd in 1988 when it came out and I absolutely loved all the songs. Tracey Chapman is unique in that not many artists bring up political issues and social problems in such a disarming fashion. With songs such as "Fast Car" she manages to be political and passionate yet enjoyable. Knowing her other works, one has to admire an artist such as Chapman, through sixteen years as an artist, she has managed to remain faithfully loyal to her path. It may not be for everyone, but if you are looking for something that has substance (not meaningless words or profanity)this is good album to begin with and then you can decide if you want to move on to her other albums.
Free Music Review: Pure music at its best Hit: 5 StarsThis is a truely great album and I love it, I love Tracy Chapman and I love listening to this CD. I had the tape but it got worn-out after repeatedly listening to it and now I have the CD and its one of my most precious possesions. The songs arouse all kinds of emotions and from the beginning (Talkin bout a revolution) to the end (For you) takes you on a musical journey that will leave you wanting more. The lyrics are written in the package and in several languages as well. My brother and sister both have this CD and they love it. My only slight criticism is of the song (behind the wall) which is an a cappella, and (If not now) which is way way to short. This album and its contents transcend time and if you are a true music lover, then you need to buy it, well worth more that the money. Thanks a lot Tracy.
