Free Music Review: Trance, but still not good.

Part of the appeal of house / trance CDs is a seamless flow from one song to the next to maintain a mood. When that mood is continuously broken by crappy mixes and mixing...
Well... in my opinion you've got a pretty big flop. I'm not sure what people hear in this - I can do better with two cd players plugged into a old Sony amp. Beat matching with little else is NOT mixing. When your overlap is consistently four bars or less, you've got a lot to learn. To me, this compilation screams amateur hour at the turntables.
There was a brief reprieve at the end, with the well-known hits "Ordinary world", "Better off alone", and a very short but groovy mix of "On the beach". This last mix could easily be twice as long, which would make it more of a meal and less of a teasing snack. The potentially catchy "Look at us", abruptly and unfortunately ends the run. And of course, these four songs are slammed together just like the rest of the album.
Final impression? One out of five stars, and a waste of $8. I think there may have been a misprint on the CD cover - this was mixed by the Crappy Boys, not the Happy Boys.
