Free Music Notes for The Christmas Attic

Free Music Review: Finally!!! Original Christmas songs!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I don't know about you, but I'm quite tired of hearing "The Christmas Song" and "Sleigh Ride" and all those other classics butchered by whatever artists happen to have a song on the radio currently. It's so disappointing that no one writes original Christmas songs anymore! And No, I don't count "Have A Happy Frickin' Christmas" original. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra, however, has done just that!! This is my favorite christmas album by these extraordinary geniuses. Songs like "The Snow Came Down" and "Christmas Canon" and "The Ghosts of Christmas Eve" are so good you could listen to them over and over year round for the rest of your life and never get bored. I won't say the CD is absolutely perfect, but it's close. The stand-out tracks might be so good that it makes the other tracks not as good, but every song is listenable which is heads, shoulders, knees, and toes beyond any other christmas CD thrown out by today's top 40 singers.

Be sure to get their other christmas albums as well! and go to their concerts, too! Simply amazing..

Free Music Review: TSO is a tradition now
Hit: 5 Stars

I have been a fan since 1999 and only started going to their concerts in 2006. I wish I wouldn't have waited so long. They are absolutely amazing to see live.

If you are expecting "Jingle Bells" and "White Christmas" or "I'll Be Home for Christmas".......look other places....TSO is not that all. There music envokes emotion of what Christmas is/was or should be.

***WARNING***
There concerts are pretty much the same from year to year. They pretty much do the first album from start to finish....it tells a story...AMAZING.

If you are going to expect to see them preform songs off this album, they do...but, not the whole album. They finish the first album, introduce the band, then for another hour they jam on the other songs...some chritmas, some not (They did "Layla" one year). They also do "Borina" (sp).....WOW!.

Get all 3 albums (XMAS) and the non XMAS one and you will be a fan immediately. I start listening to the XMAS CD's the day after Halloween!

Free Music Review: A great holiday story...
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm definitely a fan of the "rock opera"....whether it be The Who's "Tommy" or "Quadrophenia"...or "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Hair" ! So...although I discovered the "Trans Siberian Orchestra" only this holiday season...I immediately became comfortable and hooked when I bought and listened to "Christmas Eve And Other Stories".As a result...I promptly ordered "The Christmas Attic" and "The Lost Christmas Eve" ! I haven't listened to "Lost" yet....but "The Christmas Attic" is absolutely INCREDIBLE ! I LOVE traditional holiday music...but TSO's work is a Christmas adventure...musically and lyrically...it's Christmas music...but it's fresh and different ! If you like metal AND broadway musicals without the "corniness" some had...order any or all of TSO's Christmas CD's...you'll feel a new kind of holiday spirit and they'll become a part of your holiday enjoyment Christmas after Christmas. Turn on the Christmas lights...mix a holiday drink and enjoy "The Christmas Attic" ! Happy Holidays everyone !

Free Music Review: TSO delivers not one, but two GREAT rock Xmas albums!
Hit: 5 Stars

When I saw TSO on the Conan O'Brien show (1998), I was immediately swept up in emotion and energy of the musical fusion between neo-classical metal and familar Christmas overtones. The next day I ran out and bought both TSO albums! The music rings in the holiday season with beautiful orchestrations, melodies, vocals, and layered harmonies, while providing a natural adrenaline rush that can induce speeding (if driving). Although I am partial to the instrumentals, the clever alchemy of rock, strings, and vision makes it difficult to pick any favorite tracks since all continue to play over and over in my head long after the CD is turned off. Both TSO albums are great musical additions that do not limit themselves to once a year Christmas play ... but rather to year round play. Savatage lives on in TSO!

Free Music Review: Angelic Children's Choir
Hit: 5 Stars

When I was five, I fell in love with Pachelbel's Canon in D doing a dancing recital to the tune. Three decades later when I first heard the CHRISTMAS CANON on the radio, it happened to me again. Thanks to google search and amazon, I was able to locate this song produced by Trans-Siberian Orchestra within minutes. The children's angelic voice transforms ordinary place and sight into a heavenly, peaceful realm. I would recommend this album simply for the merit of this Christmas Canon version but there are many great hits inside CHRISTMAS ATTIC as well. My children enjoy the new rock-opera twist added to the traditional holiday classics and the story-line unfolded through versatile array of instrumental music and songs. May all that are searching for this song find this pretty glorious album soon!
